Heard someone asking CW on 5 Live prior to the game if he had to "pinch himself" at what was happening.
Is it me, or is this as stupid an expression as exists in the language? Has anyone EVER actually "pinched themselves" because something out of the ordinary has happened?
If we take the lead at the Etihad, will the away end simply be awash with cries of anguish as we ask the bloke next to us to "pinch me"?
Jimmy Muir was a pisshead too.Playing Manchester United on a winter's evening at Bramall Lane. Full house. Chasing the game and on comes a sub to save the day.
Should make it into a movie and call it 'When Saturday Comes'.

Me too I said at the time if they disallow that goal for some obscure reason I would walk out of the lane never to return, what me and a lot more where I sit can't get our heads round is why was that goal the only one to go to a VAR check???Agree ChrisBlade . A lot of the PL is stale and I find myself turning off MoTD when crap like Bournemouth, Watford, Palace and Burnley come on. Not necessarily the way they play, but who cares?
In the fullness of time, some may realise what CW/AK are building here - especially satisfying by realising that Wednesday are standing still. A couple of observations from yesterday:
Solskjær is building his own version of 'Busby Babes' at OT and deserves more time. By the end of this season, they'll be in the top six. He's got rid of dross like Smalling and injected some cracking youth into the team - but Phil Jones needs to go. Maguire? A (very) poor man's van Dijk, but they're stuck with him.
The 90th minute? I went from sheer ecstasy with our equaliser to the utter shit that is VAR. If that goal had been disallowed, I think I'd have walked away from football, never to return.
Agree Hodgy, great game and 2 scape goats combined to get the equaliser .I am a pessimist about United, and can still foresee plenty of ways in which it can all go wrong. But even after ManU scored their 3rd goal, I was still feeling good, because of the way we had played for most of the game. Every game so far has been competitive (except Burnley!), and the sense that we belong in this league did not disappear even when we went 3-2 down. And then for the team to fight back again (goal made by one scapegoat sub and scored by another), and for the footballing gods to give us a break (VAR), you have to think something good may be happening. That was one of the great nights (afternoons? Evenings?) at the Lane.
