But, against Riems (France) in August he was total gash, gave the ball away on 3 or 4 occasions in a dismal defeat,,which lead to the clammer to get a decent replacement, totally weird (but thankfully brilliant) transformation.

He was "total gash" well before that and most fans were in agreement that he wasn't up to it. So, it's one of the biggest surprises, certainly in all my years of watching United, that he's gone from ordinary/poor to being a key player in the first 11. Long may it continue.

It just goes to show at that level what a difference it makes by getting your head down and working your balls off to make yourself a better player both technically and from a fitness point of view.

Lundstram will have seen this as a golden opportunity to make himself into a talked about plsyer as opposed to a hard luck story, knuckled down and gave himself every chance.

Some people slag Ronaldo but he is a perfect example of someone who has reached the very top by dedicating his life to his profession. A supreme athlete that has made him one of the best players in the world for the last 10 years,

Now I’m not wanting to compare Lunny with Ronsldo by any means but hard work, a will to succeed and dedication can make a massive difference.

Another one I admire is Monty. A bloke with limited ability but dedicated his life to being a supreme athlete to give himself the best possible chance resulting in him living as a millionaire in Australia.

I doth my cap to Monty, Lundstram and Ronaldo and maybe Jose Baxter will look back and think what might have been if he had half the dedication and determination of those three.

Couldn't agree more. Those who knock Ronaldo should see the amount of work he puts in. I was told he was doing two hours a day - after training three times a week - on free kicks.

I must admit I wrote Lunny off, but to my absolute pleasure he has come good. When everyone else is tired you just see him popping up in the oppositions box and getting a shot in ...lovely!!! I bet players hate trying to mark him

Outed myself after the Reims game when fans were saying we would go down if Wilder thinks he's the answer. It's only in these last 10 games that people have started looking at him without their Coutts tinted glasses.

Not just saying it because of his displays this season, but I always thought there was a good player there. I think the turning point for me was the Brentford away game last season. He looked like he had lost some weight, seemed more mobile and lasted the pace. Obviously moved on in spades from this. I admire his dedication to the cause and he is a tryer who doesn’t give up. Brilliant Lunny, keep it up and the world is your oyster.

There were a few defending him last season and the odd one that has always defended him. Personally I was a fence sitting ‘give him time’ type, although I thought he was perfectly adequate in his cameos towards the end of the season. I certainly didn’t expect him to be as good as he has.
