So why do they make Manure favourites?

Cus Rashfords on fire at the mo and they seemed to be on the up , it will be a test thats for sure !
 
About five weeks ago I would have had us as favourites.

But they have found some good form and Rashford and James look on fire plus we are without our first choice keeper and possibly first choice centre back, they are favourites, but that doesn’t mean we can’t win however.
 
Chelsea are 13/2 to win at City Saturday evening. I'm tempted by that. We are 5/2 on Sunday.

Good form? Their last 5 games have yielded 7 points. 6 of these against Norwich and Brighton plus 2 awful defeats at Bournemouth and Newcastle.
On the other hand we're unbeaten in the last 5 against much better opposition securing 9 points. Definite win for us.
 
I would have us marginal favourites (and I do mean marginal) IF Henderson and Egan were both playing.

Moore in goal is a major handicap in my opinion (assuming it is he and not the mysterious Verrips). Egan would also be a huge blow, though you'd be okay with Jags slotting in there for a one off game. Perhaps Jags should replace Hendo instead? 🤔

In fairness to the bookies, the odds widely available suggest they think we have something like a 25 - 30% chance of winning. Does anyone really think that's unfair? Can you honestly see us (for example) winning this tie 50% of the time?

Bit harsh on Moore that. Has he ever let us down? Was great in the cup when he played earlier in the season.

Which is exactly the bookie's position - Man Utd are about 11/10, indicating a less than 50% chance of victory (and hence will 'probably' lose your money).

Has there ever been a more emotive tear jerking fantastic goal and cup match , I feel emotional /happy every time I see it . Yet just look at how football treats the F.A.Cup now.....shameful !!. PS. Macdonald scored 5 in one match for England yet never played again ! Revie again...I think.?.
 
Don't think any result would surprise anyone, win, lose or draw, if we win say 2-1 I don't think any of the pundits would go overboard, we have recently beaten arsenal and drawn with spurs, just another game 😁

That ^^^^. If they put a strong side out and give it their all you’d expect them to get a win. If they slack, or Ole gets his tactics badly wrong, we’ll tear ‘em a new arsehole.

Watch Moore have an absolute blinder now... and it would not surprise me if he does either.

Wilder is a motivation genius, and he will make it crystal clear that this is his opportunity to stake a place in the 1st team, whether that's this season or next.

Stranger things have happened, who saw Ramsdale as a PL 1st team keeper? Who predicted Lunny as our star player?

Apart from saving a penalty I thought he was poor to average, long shot conceded (like 17/18 all over again), hesitant, unimposing, made some alright saves against Champ midtable and league one opponents but he's a long way off being a PL backup in my opinion.

I'd love to be wrong obviously but I think our defensive stats are going to take a hit on Sunday even if we win.

I'd love to see Verrips personally, played a lot more football, but it's not worth the risk if there's any chance FIFA will be on our case.

He was no worse than Blackman in that 17/18 season and people seemed to rave about him for no apparent reason. Hardly call Moore unimposing either, when he first came in he was the first keeper we’d had in a long while that actually talked to the defenders in front of him. He’s a more than adequate back up.

Interesting how Lundstram was far from a PL backup to most in the summer too.

He came in a long time ago.

The fact the Wilder has brought in 3 keepers in 3 seasons says a lot, 2 were put above him and Verrips would probably be above or level too if the transfer was a smooth one.

Blackman is half the keeper Henderson is, but some of his game was excellent, particularly corners. Otherwise I'd agree they were quite similar, but definitely a substantial downgrade from Henderson.

Anyway I can only go on what I've seen with my own eyes, and that's his last 4 games at the Lane in the cups, and he gives me the shits, particularly with long shots where he has a Joe Hart esque propensity to make it look good but get nowhere near it.

Obviously I want him to play out of his skin against Man U though.

I thought Blackman commanded his area better but Moore was more agile. Blackman didn’t seem to get down very quickly.
I think Moore should be OK for a game. He should be well up for it and how many times do we see a lower league keeper have a blinder in a cup game against a big team. I’ve always thought a big part of being a top player is consistency. We’re not asking Moore to perform well for 38 games, just 95 minutes.
