Looking at the upcoming Newcastle game made me think. Any ideas?

(excluding boxing days from previous years)

Why are we playing Thursday?
We were due to play Tuesday but our game at Wolves got shifted to Sunday as they're in the Europa league the Thursday before.

We could have been shifted to midweek but I'm guessing Amazon prefer to extend their week of midweek coverage to three days.

And as a result our game at Norwich has been shifted to Sunday which means I can't bloody go.

Fuck Thursday night.....we’re chasing down the Manc Citeh spot.

😯I thought amazons offering was just around the festive period, does this mean that this game is on Amazon as well?

I have no idea, I was just reminded about the game from the club via email. Newcastle aren't in Europe or the cups like us... weird.
It's due to Amazon buying all the Tuesday night fixtures - only realising afterwards that if the screen them all on the same night they won't get the viewing figures they were hoping for. So they have been spread over a number of nights.

Didn't a game late on in the first Wilder promotion season get shifted to a Thursday because whoever we were playing had a huge fixture backlog?

And we did we last play a midweek League home game with a 7:30pm kick off?

Maybe we could have a 10 minute half-time and a 9:10 finish like we used to. More drinking time.

One of the best ever united games was played on a Thursday night, 2003 v Forest in the play-offs

Very true, but does anyone know when we last played a first team league fixture on a Thursday night at home?

(even more specific)

No. Our last five home games in 2016/17 were on five different days of the week, which is probably some sort of record, but none of them were on a Thursday.

Didn't ITV digital introduce Thursday night games in the 2001-02 season? I think we played at Rotherham in one

We did. Pissed it down if I remember rightly. Brown scored a pen didn't he?

But that wasn't the last one. Coventry away in the title season.

I’m going for Forest at home in April 2003. We won 1-0,Asaba scored. That was definitely a Thursday night.
