What matters is not "average" it's how far it actually is to the pitch from the furthest seats. Which group of match day attendees usually get the worst positions?

Similar to the concept Spurs have gone with - if it's even possible (I think it is in this day and age, Sociedad's olympic stadium was moved inwards*) - we could do with moving the stadium further up the car park and back a bit onto the Kop.

John Street and Bramall Lane are impossible to build on due to the roads behind them so would be nice to future proof.

My grandaughter went to Berlin last week and took in the Berlin v Hoffenheim match. She said it was very cheap to get in. Supporters were handed a free programme on entry to the ground. She also said that a burger and a drink came to 6 euro. I have had a look at Hertha's pricing of season tickrts and it's very cheap for a ground that pulls in over 50,000 fans every game. Compare that to the likes of Spurs............mind boggling...

Funny but when we are playing a new team at our new gaff I often have a quick peruse of their forums. They usually have a similar thread to this one and hidden away somewhere they have another one with people desperate to get tickets.

Personally I prefer the old school grounds and would have been happy to watch Spurs in a 45k revamped WHL but modern football dictates these new super-stadiums.

As far as new grounds go, the new WHL is very well done. It is an amazing stadium but to fill the extra 20-25k seats they will sell tickets to anyone that can afford them. Which of course dilutes the fan base and the atmosphere.

So good and bad.

So what are the chances of getting a ticket if I turn up on Saturday? Cheers.

PL London clubs put their working class fans straight in the bin without much thought when the owners see an opportunity to gentrify their club.

That's the main difference between Manchester and London, City's ticket prices are very good, and considering the level of football and return compared to Arsenal and Spurs, outstanding but they have to be because the percentage of support that's working class is higher.

In London, you can make your cheapest season ticket over £1k because while there are loads of working class supporters, Greater London is full of people who earn that in a few days or less so they're a lower percentage of the potential.

Yet City occasionally struggle to sell out and the atmosphere at the Etihad is awful according to a few ST holder mates. Makes no sense really.

We certainly owe a huge thanks to KM- PA for the price we pay to watch top prem football then. 250 for mine against a grand for theirs, happy days .

Not to mention the better quality football currently. No guarantee it will last mind. Fantastic value though.

I don’t think it’s an unreasonable assumption that a PL ground has a crap atmosphere (spoiler alert - it’s gash compared to the Championship), more so a top 6 club and likewise new grounds are soulless, everyone I’ve been to is the same.

That stand they've done is an improvement on White Hart Lane which to be fair was a decent stadium. But I really don't like the way it goes down at the sides, which I know they had to do because its a bowl. The yellow wall is by far the best - in the world - below! I wish the PL was more like the Bundesliga to b honest! Its a fairer league with fan ownership and safe standing. What's not to like!

I’d normally agree but noticed Spurs seemed to have made a concerted effort to go against the grain when they designed the stadium, replicating the Yellow Wall etc. It might not work, and I wouldn’t faint in surprise if the stadium isn’t a cauldron on Saturday. I’d just rather judge it first before writing it off as like the others. But from what I’ve seen from afar, there and the London Athletics Stadium are night and day.

FC Koln’s stadium is steeper than this at a guess. I nearly fell onto the pitch from the top tier trying to see a substitution once. Great atmosphere.
