Top Six

As Palace got beaten today, we’ve been an established top six side for a couple of hours now. As it looks like we’ve replaced manchester, I am expecting to inherit the level of fawning obsequiousness usually afforded them.

at the very least, the press and media can now start to call us “United”
 



I’m finding it all a bit confusing. I started off this season looking at the results of those I considered to be relegation rivals and hoping they lose.

Now despite my Blade inner self I find myself looking at clubs who might challenge us for a spot in Europe and can’t make my mind up on the best result for us !

The world‘s gone mad I tell thee 😂
 
Looking at the table there are four teams looking much better than the rest of the division and we have already played three of them. At the moment I think we deserve to be where we are, the question is can we keep it up for the rest of the season.

Absolutely deserve it. If anything we could be higher

Wow just wow !

When we are deemed as being 'safe' I would really love us to take the shackles off and really go at teams like we know we can - let's see how far that can take us.

Onwards and upwards Blades 😀

Defensively we’ve been great so. Henderson hadn’t had much to do in any game.
but going forward I’ve been a little dissapointed. The media think we’ve been great
but we CAN play much better.....before the Burnley match we hadn’t been free flowing like we were in the championship
and we were looking lightweight up front.

However yesterday we finally showed signs that we can play like I know we can.
Also the McGoldric/ Mousset combo looks good.

Think if anything.....we are still adjusting/ finding our feet, so I expect us to be better the rest of the season.

Nooooo! You can't talk like that, you'll be accused of sounding like a pig. 17th is where we should be aiming, we're punching way above our weight and we shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as established PL giants such as Bournemouth, Brighton and, dare I say it, Watford. Now go and get your cloth cap back on and be prepared to be awestruck when we play Manchester next up.

We can get that done before we play Man City away on boxing day! We've got to allow for only getting a draw there, if we have injuries or illness.

The Premier League is just a glossy TV program where you pick your favourite team and a slick phone app where you can keep up with all the latest goss. If it was a place it would be an airport duty free shop.
Actual games/results/tables are a bit boring really.
Arsenal have a nice kit this season, I should have picked them. Will anyone notice if I switch? Wait, but Liverpool are most likely to win, plus their manager seems nice...ok I'm going with them. I hope David Beckham comes back as manager in time for the next World Series

One of the best things about this season will be seeing how ill informed, entitled halfwits like this deal with the demise of some of their big boy teams.

Man U are shagged and well past their sell by date, simple as and won't make the top 8 as things are. Spurs have a tired squad and a bored manager, without a massive refresh of both they will struggle to make the top 6. Arsenal are, well Arsenal, just as they were over recent years.

The current top 4 is unlikely to change imo, but in all honesty who else from "the rest" is that much better than us, at the moment?
 
I was just thinking the other day about our finishes under Wilder.

Season before he arrived: 11th L1
1st season: 1st L1 (10 places higher)
2nd season: 10th Champ (14 places higher)
3rd season: 2nd Champ (8 places higher)
4th season:.... who knows

The pattern so far is moving up about half a division per season 😮

Bodes well..
 
Are we all up for another promotion campaign fellow Blades...........Doh!

Insert minor whinge here. Shell out on a few expensive squad players for a crack at Europa League football, or for a new pie stall and half a dozen of Mr Thomas Crappers inventions behind the top? ;)

I think you missed my point 😀. For Premier League fans their affiliation is just another fashion accessory.
