This team from start to finish are good footballers. The first 20 minutes today were electric, every single one of them oozed class, Burnley were literally blown away.

No player was less than a 7 and Enda and Goldy 10's. Goldy especially was on a level above.

So yes Chris should get the due respect for bringing this rag bag lot together, but my God they are all excellent football players and a joy to watch, it's so so good to be a Blade at the moment, the best team for 40 years in my book.

Egan, Baldock, Stevens, Fleck, Norwood, Lundstram and McGoldrick all look right at home and are performing consistently week in, week out.

I'd include O'Connell and Basham but there have been defensive errors, some punished, some not. They've played well but not to the standards of the others........yet.

It bodes well for January to see where Wilder can strengthen the team rather than the squad.

Wilder put this team together and invented the tactics.. his man management is exceptional.. i’d die in a ditch for the man

Chris Wilder deserves all the credit but the quotes along the lines of "amazing how he's done it with essentially a championships squad" are miles off.

Ultimately, football is a physical game and it's the players who run, jump, tackle, pass, shoot and head the ball.

There are so many players in this squad who are showing they can do that at a premier league level. 7 of yesterday's 14 either played for us in League 1 or were signed from league 1 or below by Wilder. Plus Henderson, who had never played above League 1 before joining the blades.

That doesn't mean they haven't developed/been developed into top division players

I’m two years behind you and totally agree. I thought the Currie/Woodward team could never be matched, but this period taking everything into account is imho better, with more potential to improve even more.

What you suggest has been going on since Wilder came in it gets harder the higher we go and it's not just about money.
Digging out the best the players can give is the magic bullet which Wilder gets (Bassett had the same quality ) is key .
Will be interesting if we get to the point of buying world class players ! would they respond to the man management style of CWAK ?.
If so the mind boggles.

Wilder is the catalyst for our players and they have to take the opportunity; those in our first team are doing so.

Since 2016 just as many failed to grasp the chance as those who prospered. That's life, that's football.

What would Stevens, Baldock, Basham, O'Connell, Egan, McGoldrick, Duffy, Jake Wright, Sharp, Fleck, Lundstram, Cranie, Clarke and others have in their career scrapbook if Wilder had not achieved what he has done with our club?

As for Carruthers, Holmes, Lavery, Hammond, Woodburn and numerous others will look back and think what might have been.

Morrison, Osborn, L.Freeman, McBurnie, Robinson, Besic are all in there with the chance to fatten their scrap books. Jags has just the last page to fill!

We fans take what we are given, come hell and high water in abundance. We are in heaven well above the flood level, basking in the sunshine right now, thanks to CWAK.

It's what you call a thread catching the buoyant early evening mood on a winning match day.

There are those who do that as soon as we win and there's another little clique who catch the anger on match days when we play badly.

I just about tolerate the former in silence. I despise the latter and can't resist a pop at them.
