Answering my own question (sort of) when Wimbledon played at Selhurst Park didn't we play them and Palace away in a row?

I was wondering about when we played Barnsley in the cup in 1990 with a replay at Oakwell followed by a second replay at Oakwell, but I’ve checked and there were two league matches in between.

So no further forward.

The league game was when Vinny J got a yellow within 5 secs, and Ward scored a pearler for their 2nd (after Jones and received a 2nd yellow).

This was because the winner was guaranteed to meet Manure at home in the next round.

We won the third replay (two weeks after the second!) but lost 1-0 to Manure (eventual winners).

Think Shipperley scored their goal.

I went to both games. There were 1,300 at the Wimbledon game. It was the lowest crowd for a competitive fixture involving United since 1900.

Yes. I vaguely recall one reason it was rearranged to that date was so that Michael Brown wouldn't be suspended for the semi. We did not put out a strong side. Warnock had basically given up on automatic promotion. Ben Doane's United career ended that night. sadly, due to injury.
