Right....... What are people thought on the remaining games of 2019

I'm going for a total of 28 up to the Liverpool game

With some very winnable games in Dec

Just need to stay clear on any injuries in the back 5

Counting ....
Chickens ....
Hatched .....
one game at a time , fantastic 3 points last night , but let’s not lose the run of ourselves ehhh
Leave “ Dem Pigs 🐷 “ to all of that ,
let us be more realistic and sensible
Let’s stay up , and push on next year as
“ Dem pigs 🐷 “ squeal at our pashun and
pub “ plumbers “ team go on from strength to strength
But we need to stay up

Way too early, still worry about the number of clear chances created and converted from open play. We’re doing great but if we start conceding more, which with suspensions and injuries is likely, then the goal scoring pressure increases too. Great win, great night but let’s be realistic.

Agree December is a big month.

By then injuries, suspensions, fatigue will have kicked in for all clubs. We have a strong squad apart from the Back 3 and keeper cover. Best ever squad I.M.O.

The 2 games against the bottom third teams we've played - Watford and Southampton - we haven't scored. The Burnley game might give us more of an idea how we'll do against the teams in our part of the table. But I'd withhold judgement for a while

Don’t get carried away.

it’s a cliche that’s always said but is very true.

one game at a time.

I know we didn’t, but, if we had lost on Monday and then lost on Saturday we would more than likely have been in the bottom 3.

We're really struggling to score goals but our excellent defence is winning us points.

You'd think the two will start to equal out a bit as the season goes on.

never try and predict anything, LMS shows that week in week out :)

You could argue that people would have hoped, for example, for 3 points from Soton and The Arse at home and OK, we got 3 points but no-one would have predicted it that way round. We're on track for staying up points wise but you could argue that just about every game rested on one or two moments and things can change very quickly in this League given the quality of opposition. We're just as likely to win at Wham then lose at home to Burnley, that's the way it will be so just enjoy the ride :)

5 winnable games in December. Or at least, 5 "must-not-lose" ones.

Get this return from those and we'll all be happy:

Newcastle H - win
Norwich A - draw
Villa H - Win
Brighton A - draw
Watford H - Win

I can see a defeat in there though

28 points by that Liverpool game would be more than two of last season's relegated sides managed in the whole season... it also would've been good enough for 8th in the league after that stage last year.

Love the optimism but if we've got that many points after 20 games I'll be absolutely stunned. And very much looking forward to the second half of the season!

Really struggling to see how fatigue will be an issue for us this season. We are playing, at the moment 1 game a week with a 2 week international break every 3 weeks. We have no cups or European football to distract us and we are rotating the strikers. I’m guessing the 4 that run the most are; Bash, Jack, Baldock and Stevens and only the latter, at the moment, is playing intl football

Without wanting to sound negative - at least one loss will happen in these games, it’s ok saying these are the ‘worst’ premier league sides but this isn’t like playing the worst teams in the Championship, these are premier league sides and we are underdogs in most games.

Edit - I agree that they are also all winnable games!

My post about fatigue, injuries etc was more about other clubs than us - the point being we have the squad to cope anyway. I think we agree!

I would guess we really need 5 points from every 4 games played, so right now 9 games played 12 points we are two points in the bag for any slip ups we might have.

I think 5 points from every four is more than do able from the games we have remaining and the team we have including injures, suspensions and all that.

So now we are a little further down the line from my first post.... What are people thoughts in the games starting Sunday with wolves

I'm sticking with my 28 points at least

28 is achievable but wont be as easy as you may think.

Assuming we dont take anything from Man City away (but who knows we might at this rate!) that would leave us needing 10 points from 6 games. Basically 2 wins and 4 draws and zero losses

I would be happy with 25 points or above by the end of the year.

What about 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses?

First 6 games 8 points next 6 games 9 points......... Next 6 games???? But I'm expecting better than 9 seeing how we are play and who we are playing in the next 5

I’m looking at it and seeing 3 wins and 2 draws 😂

im sticking with squeaky bum predictions and saying 21

Wolves A - Lose
Newcastle H - Win
Norwich A - draw
Villa H - draw
Brighton A - Win
Watford H - Win

Makes 29 points

I'd go Wolves Loss
Newcastle Win
Norwich Win
Villa Draw
Brighton Draw
Watford Win
I also get 29 points :)

There are indeed some winnable games in December, but there are also a lot of games to play in December and we've pretty much been playing a settled 11 all season. Wilder will have to rotate things or we'll burn out and go on an inevitable bad run.

I'd expect Wilder to play our main 11 in the "winnable" games and we'll draw other games that we could potentially have won, or lose games we thought we'd normally draw because we'll have to rotate.

December will be a mixed bag of results but nothing to worry about if it's not all fine and dandy to your own expectations.

Of course, if this thread was about them other lot on NKT they would be predicting what points they need to win the league.....
