I'd expect to see better treatment from refs with wilder in charge as he hardly mentions them and certainly doesn't use them as an excuse for defeats like most managers ( especially warnock )

We deserve to be treated fairly for this reason and also for the fact our players don't surround them or try to influence them , of course not all refs will be bothered by this and I'm sure we will be on the wrong end of some shockers but I feel like this sportsmanship of trying to influence refs should be eradicated from the game and that surely you'd have more influence over officials by just treating them like human beings
 



I didnt think he was that good some of the shoulder barges and pushes were clear free kicks especially the one in the air where the Arsenal guy just pushed him out the way any other team and they would have got it and should have had a penalty for Baldock. There penalty shout was shocking and he got that one bang on.

The crowd were right "Arsenal always cheating..."

Having seen the replay it was probably a yellow. From the angle they showed it look like he cleaned him out. It was a genuine attempt to play the ball but it was very late.
 
Anyone else notice when the players walked out, Mike Dean all of a sudden start giving evil eyes to the match ball? Was proper odd!

Mike Dean is totally in love with himself and we don't pay to see the likes of him showing off, however he had a very good game last night (besides the shirt pull but we'll let him off!!)
 
Think dean is one of the best refs about , he’s just a prat who tries to make it all about him.

He loved booking that arsenal player for diving classic mike dean that was the fake point to the spot smoothly executed into the foul the the booking.

Big like.

The harassing and influencing of officials increases up the Leagues as you go.

What Alex Ferguson largely got away with for years was a disgrace.

Tell you what though, watching grown men trying the same tactic with teenage refs at kids' games on a Sunday is as dispiriting as it gets at football.
 
Good ref, I know he is a bit flamboyant but to be honest I don't care if his refereeing performances are good, and they normally are. His decisions are on the strict side but I don't think he's an Anthony Taylor level bollock dropper.
 
I think he had a good game.
Yes he could have called the shirt pull if he had he could also have called the shoulder into the back of Baldock in the box it came out even in the end.
His flourish at the end for the goal kick was pantomime magic!

A similar thing happened to me. I asked this bloke carrying a vaulting pole ‘are you a pole vaulter?’ and he replied ‘no, it’s a massive fucking javelin, prick’. That’s what happens when you ask daft questions in Sheffield.

The overdramatised way he pointed for a goal kick to us in injury time would have pissed me off no end if the boot were on the other foot.

Since people started holidaying in Vietnam, this board got far more cosmopolitan than just being about blokes in Sheffield.

What would the answer have been in Jakarta or North Hammersmith?

I know he’s a bit of a weapon with his theatrics and has an ego the size of Jupiter; and whenever we get him, theres a huge collective groan. But when was the last time he screwed us over? Seriously, if anything, we’ve done alright out of him the last few times we’ve had him.

I’ve fucking jinxed it now like, but he’ll do for me.

By the way; Alan Biggs reckons its his 500th PL game, so no doubt he’ll be expecting some sort of presentation and standing ovation at the Emirates. So when he gets neither, his wounded ego might take it out on Arsenal for trying to overshadow his big day. We should buy him a cake to get him onside.
 
He‘s been probably the best ref in the Premier League this season.

However he always strikes me as a bit of a ‘homer’ Which is concerning that we now have him away from home.

I'd have him for every game, you know what you're getting, he's a consistent and mostly good ref, and the theatrics are funny.
