Stats mean fuck all really, if I read that right that means he wins only 7 headers out of the 90 he challenges for? That seems shocking taking into account he wins his fair share of headers in his own box?

I don’t think you realise how many aerial duals there actually are per game, not that many. As I’m sure you can tell from the chart. I’d say JOC wins nearly all of his wouldn’t you? Well he’s lower down the list than Oli. John wins all of his I’d say? He’s not even there. So that goes to show how little in the way of ‘aerial duals’ there actually are in a game - to average 7 is some achievement. Maybe shows we’ve punted it long too much too, but that’s not Oli’s fault.

I read it as Heading duels won per 90 duels attempted, I think you’re right about the me being thick part but I only realised when you explained it better in your post I’m replying to so I’ll go for a bit of both at the bottom, no offence.

To get a better idea of the stats you’ve provided I think we’d need to see the duels he as attempted to win, for me that would give everyone a better idea of how well he’s doing aerially.

I completely agree we’re playing way too many hopeless balls to him anyway, this isn’t us or him and we must change that if we want to remain competitive at this level, ultimately I think Wilder will and we’ll see a much better Blades in the next month or two as we always start slowly.

Well I can’t give you what isn’t there mate sorry, I just saw this because someone retweeted it! The JOC and Egan points are what make it more interesting to me, because we know how aerially dominant they are and they seem to win about 10 headers a game minimum but clearly not.

Don’t think anyone would or could disagree regarding the punts up to him, but he’s clearly capable of winning them, not that that’s the point because normally when he does win them there’s no one around him to make use of it.
