Been here before. Explain why i could get away tickets last season and for years previous but can't now if many were going en masse previous years. Whats happened is that there are many with loads of points who didnt go away or at least not regularly in previous years but want a piece of it now we are in the prem. They will drop off if we go down I guarantee.

Explain how they got their points.

I know some use others points until the official holder wants the ticket - l know people who do it - but it won't be that many. If the clamour for tickets wasn't that great in L1, why would people buy a ticket for 50 or a 100 points?

Can I ask how many points you have?

I know that ST, I’m not daft, some of them are willing to buy STs to gain points as well whilst at the same time not going to half of them, it’s crackers, they go to all means possible to get tickets for the big games.

I can honestly say l've never met anyone buy an ST just so they could see the big games. Not saying it doesn't happen on the odd occasion though. We've got one argument about L1 seasons where tickets were freely available and another about people spending daft money just to guarantee a ticket for the odd away game. Numbers wise, both can't be right.

Most of the people who were going in the L1 seasons are still going now. With exceptions like Essex Blade for whom an ST wouldn't make financial sense, most of those complaining are people who didn't bother in those days but want priority because they went thirty or whatever years ago when we were in higher divisions.

Well someone paid for the tickets to get the points. An ST since inception gives you over 30k points. 150 or so away games over 11 years and you're on 45k. It's not hard to imagine that those with a season ticket from the start - many who will now be old enough to travel on their own or with mates - will increase demand for away tickets.

Irrespective of perceived loyalty, at 3000 tickets per game maximum, anyone with less than, at most, 35k points who thought they'd get a ticket for most away games was kidding themselves.

It happens more than you think, I know it does.

Just so you know, I missed about 9 or 10 games home and away in the whole of the League one seasons, I never got to a game in the Prem season last time so not every blade who can’t get tickets now are glory hunters.

the situation is that many who didnt bother going away in prev seasons are going now otherwise i wouldnt have been able to get away tickets other years. Plain and simple.

I and a few others I know are in the opposite situation. Started going the relegation season, went home and away during league 1 and the last two seasons in the champ, not got to an away game this season.

For the years I've been going, the majority of away tickets have got to general sale, with a core of about 1k-1.5k fans. I've been part of that until we play the pigs/stoke/leeds etc, 3k fans get tickets ahead of me. It's clear they aren't all part of the 1-1.5k that go regularly. Now we sell out a mile away from my 32k loyalty points, some of the fans that are going weren't at Swansea/Reading/Borough away last season.

Last reply, then I'll leave it with you, how did people accumulate points?

The vast majority of those with over 45k points will have gained them in the normal way. And that's mainly why tickets are now hard to come by.

No one mentioned glory hunters, so let's drop that straight away. I referred to complainers who stopped going when he cart came off the wheels. Big difference.

Happened just behind me towards front in second half. Anybody know why? Several stewards got involved.

I thought fighting between our own fans was now a traditional event at away games, which originated during a number of disappointing days out at Wembley in recent years?

Most of us seem to have witnessed it so it shouldn't surprise us anymore.

In fact, it seems to be quite the accepted fashion now for some fuckin coked up or bladdered idiot to try and knock the shit out of a fellow supporter if:

a) we aren't three nil up after ten minutes
b) if we're getting a bit of a chasing or
c) someone wont join in the singing.

Absolute cunts who just look for any way they can to spoil it for the majority.

I sympathize with these people who want to go but don't see how they don't get it that the people with the points have been home and away for years including league one

Your not missing owt ,its all scrapping with other Blades and abusing McBurnie apparently.
Ive been to ever game and the only place Ive seen fans mumping is Bramall Lane.
Hes our striker hes our number 9 was sung loud on Saturday . Don't listen to FAKE news.

But, ticketmastering aside -which the club must be aware of - , those people must have enough loyalty points gained from somewhere.

As I understand it, people let others use their ticket via organisers, gaining points, until there's a game they themselves want to go too. To gain points the tickets must be sold. If it was easy to get tickets, there's a lot of people throwing money away somewhere along the line. It's not really an argument about loyalty points totals per se, it's about fans going to a considerable number of away games no longer getting tickets because of points gained from, presumably, home games. ( sounds contradictory but l hope you grasp what I mean).

These organisers aside, much of the increased demand will be from those who got their points legitimately. What's the answer? Away season tickets based on matches from the first L1 season until last? Would it really change that much? The club have the info on the database.

Its like pulling teeth this. Explain why we got tickets for away games last season and for prev 5 to 6 years if all of those going away this season went away with the same regularity then! Im done anyway cos we can talk all we like but im still gonna have to wait until either some lose interest or perish the thought we get relegated to get to away games regardless.

The tickets are more limited this season and probably last season some didn't take up their option for one I don't know but as far as I can see as someone who has gone home and away for years mostly see the same faces

You all look at your feet, ( apart from when reading Homer or Spenser’s Faerie Queen, inside a programme natch) embarrassed by the diagonal longing looks from the Pukka Pie corner whose inhabitants think the pitch has a wall across part of it.
Reyt then. Just sat quiet minding us own business and you, yes you, have to drag us into it.
🙈🙉🙊

I get it, majority have earned their points legitimately. I'm not having a go at the club or the fans who are getting to games, I'm just personally disappointed and have got used to travelling away every other week.

I don't have a strong opinion on which fans deserve the tickets; those who have 20 years of mostly home service or my 9ish years of home and away service. Just feels shit being at the wrong side of it knowing that I'm definitely in the top 2000 fans for picking up loyalty points in the past 9 years.

It’s definitely got harder. I’ve struggled for the last couple of years but in the Weir, Wilson and even Blackwell years it was never a problem.

The only thing I can think of is that if someone had an ST every season and went to most of the local away games like Chesterfield, Rotherham etc they’d still build up a decent number of points. Add say two or three longer trips per season (and/or the cup games under Clough), then assume they started going more when Wilder took over then you can’t be far off.

Every year we don’t have an ST we slip a bit further behind. I’m not moaning, I don’t deserve an away ticket more than someone who had an ST during the bad years but there’s no doubt it’s got a lot harder to get them.

Because they all didn't go to all the matches. Maybe half went half of the time, etc. Still leaves tickets available in L1. Then in the prem, more want them, more of the time, meaning they only ho to 40k plus holders.

Every cloud and all that, bring back the good old days ?

When I'm called off, I got a sawed off
Squeeze the trigger, and bodies are hauled off
You too, boy, if ya fuck with me
The police are gonna have to come and get me
Off your ass, that's how I'm goin out
For the punk motherfuckers that's showin' out
