Unfortunately I don't watch much Italian football, so am unfamiliar with most of the players. Are there any realistic players outside the top clubs that would boost our squad strength?

I suspect there's a lot of very good players outside of the top divisions in many countries, Italy, France, Belgium, Germany, to name just a few. We need to have feet on the street, out there, watching these players and reporting back. I could offer my services to the club, but I haven't really a clue what I'd be looking for, my strength is in criticising them once they've signed for us. ;)

Would France not be the better starting point since we are always looking for "Black Pacey and French?" ;)

I do genuinely think so. It's the most suitable of the top leagues for us to try and recruit from.

Loads of great types in that league too, as you say.

I was a bit tongue in cheek, but do agree, the talent is there in France Italy and Spain, I also as protected as it would be think we could do well having people or contacts on the ground in South & North America.

South America for obvious reasons, its not by chance that Brazil and Argentina lead the way with Foreign imported players in to each of the European leagues, and North America is growing in popularity, and could really do us well if the system gets a much needed change and they have relegation and promotion, at the moment the Teams and Owners of the MLS are against it but there is more and more of a push for it as it would be the next steps in growing football in North America.

In all Seriousness we should be looking to the other leagues in Europe, for example Michael Verrips, was a very good bit of business for us, a future number 1 between the sticks for us and a great bit of networking and scouting if that is how we got him!

We're looking in Belgium. The links with Sander Berge were real and it came out yesterday that we tried for Emmanuel Dennis at Club Brugges too, who scored twice at the Bernabeu on Tuesday.

With the Prince gaining control and Van Winckel being his man, expect more of this sort of thing from now on. Which is good as long as it's not forced on Wilder.

Brexit will surely restrict the number of potential players being allowed a work permit ?
I read somewhere that over 40% of current foreign players would have been denied a permit under the new legislation.

Belting young player at Villareal, Samuel Chukwueze. Left footed winger who cuts in from the right, looks a lovely prospect. Plays a bit like Brooks, always looking to attack.

Mario Pasalic is a midfielder I like the look of who I think would fit in well with us. He's at Atalanta on loan from Chelsea. But he's not an automatic starter there and at 24 Chelsea should probably be looking to sell. God knows what wages they have him on though.

Watched Lazio on Freesports Serie A on Sunday. The strangely (and ironically ) named Immobile up front looked half decent.

Generally good defenders, if you see one tearing down the wing every two minutes and pinging in crosses give Chris a call.

😁

Are Italians still coming over in numbers?. I thought Portuguese, Belgians, and French were the popular choices these days.

Apply to do the same job at Hillsborough then!
