How confident are we of seeing us in a European competition in a few years ,if wilder stays at the helm .
I would love to travel into Europe with the blades, I think we would make a good impression on our european cousins.

If that UEFA Conference gets legs, it’ll help. Need to become well established in the league before we will likely be happy spending the money required to have the quality and depth of squad to qualify for Europe over 38 games. Would be cracking though.

We are for sure. All other clubs our size have at least been in the Europa League or UEFA Cup. Along with loads of smaller ones like Millwall and Hull.

Yes it should quickly become be a realistic target in the event that we continue to progress, that’s not me getting ahead of myself by the way, it’s simply saying that once established then this has to be a measure of our success.

It would be an amazing day/2 days for the fans, you only have to had seen the numbers at the pre season friendlies in recent years to know we would be backed in massive numbers ( that didn’t mean to sound piggish by the way as we all know they are the worlds greatest supporters).

A trip to France, Germany, Holland, Belgium etc would be unreal- okay I am getting a bit ahead of myself at this point.

Knowing us we’d end up getting someone like St Johnstone, get eliminated in the first round and never qualify again in our lifetime

I think the Eastern Europe / Old Soviet is exactly what most blades would want! Having worked out in Eastern Europe a fair bit in the mid 2000's have to say its quality. Cheap and good and strong ale! And goulash everywhere too, nothing to not be happy about there! Id take that over a trip to Perthshire and St Johnstone (which is actually a lovely area tbf)

This. Our ONLY objective this season is to stay in the PL. The riches that follow MIGHT allow us to aim higher, if they are sensibly managed.

Oh dear! I'm sorry Jack, and absolutely no offence intended, but thank God our manager doesn't think this way, or we'd be relegated for certain.

We aren't aiming to "survive" - in fact Wilder has said that in the press in the last 24 hours. You get nothing for "aiming to survive" - it increases your chances of failure.

And all of you folks who are saying "I'd take 4th bottom now" - well, you'd probably end up with 3rd bottom and be relegated.

If you're going to compete at this level you have to believe in yourself - and that's not thinking, "if we can survive it will be o.k.". Not at all. You have to believe that you can give anyone a damn good game and have every chance of finishing near the top of the table, not the middle or the bottom. That's not unrealistic. But it becomes a lot less realistic if you think we can't do it.

We've just given the European Champions the hardest match of their Premier League season so far... and yet we have folks in the camp of "survival" and "I'll snap your hand off for 4th bottom". I just don't get it. I really don't.

I started the season thinking there were 6 or 8 clubs who we couldn't get anywhere near. I now think that number is 4 or 6 clubs based on what I've seen so far.

I’d say the same with some of the teams I’ve seen. They really aren’t all that.

That’s not to say for one minute that I’d back us to be that far up but aim high and you might get close, aim low and that’s as high as you’ll ever get.

I love our club and our fans but we do sell ourselves short on occasions. If Burnley can do it then sure as hell we can
