Rubbish odds. Bet for a bit of fun and accept that you'll probably lose, then it doesn't really matter that the bookies are ripping you off. Get all serious about it and study all the odds etc and the only way to consistently come out on top is by playing the Exchanges (eg Betfair) and being the bookie yourself.

Looking at the positive, we have a better chance, according to Bet365, of beating Liverpool than Everton have of beating Man City.

That's like saying we'll give you 25/1 against the Blades beating Liverpool based on Wednesday's defeat to Everton - especially given that the Everton win was on Tuesday and our last match was on Wednesday, but then Wednesday easily get confused whichever day of the week they play on.

Norwich were 18/1 to beat Man City with Skybet (you could probably have got better odds but I was just looking out of curiosity at the time). By that measure I suppose 10/1 isn't ridiculous given that we're currently 10th in the league, but I would've thought it'd be a lot higher.

It seems that our recent success at Everton away paired with the recent Norwich city upset means that they've given us short odds for the match.

I do think we have a better chance for getting something from this tie than what some would believe. If we can stifle Liverpool's attacks as much as we did against Everton, and create chances like we did at home to Soton, who's to say what will happen... their Bramall Lane form is shocking too...

I always check the lay odds on the exchange and compare it with the bookies odds. That’s usually the easiest way to tell if there’s any value in it.

Let’s be honest though. If you’re backing singles the exchange should the only place you go to, represents a true price and the market isn’t edged against you like with a standard bookie.

Ok let's look at the facts .......................

Liverpool have won 16 consecutive league games.

We played last Wednesday and were dog shit. Also had to play a couple of our strikers who will be involved on Saturday.

Their first 11 have had a full weeks rest.

They are the European Champions and current league leaders.

But ......... like Bash said, we are Sheffield United! 3-2 to the Blades (McBurnie 2, The Moose 1)

I can still see Gary Hamson curling in that screamer past the outstretched arms of Clemence back in 1978. The kop went mental ..... and some fooker nicked my hat!
