Possibly 4 at the weekend but you never know. When was the last time that happened?
The only positive from last night is that it used up a game of Billys suspension.

Was thinking the same thing last night, not 4 in a row but under Weir we had a run of LDLLDL. In 10/11 we got close, the worst winless run at home was LDLLLDDDL, winless runs in previous Prem seasons as well but never 4 defeats.

It was a different team last night anyway so doesn't count ;)

Here's hoping they have an eye on the Chumpions League next week after their 1st week loss.

I don't count last night as a third home defeat in the same regard as the previous two. A reserve 11 unsurprisingly losing in the cup is hardly panic stations or a reason to believe that our home form is a cause for concern.

Losing to Liverpool on Saturday wouldn't make me worry about the home form either.

Our next 6 league home matches are:
Liverpool
Arsenal
Burnley
Man Utd
Newcastle
Villa

If you can't see at least 2 defeats in these then, no offence, you're deluded.

Burnley, Newcastle and Villa are the key games in that list. The others are a bonus if we win or draw, although we will likely get a shock result somewhere and lose a game we'd expect to win.

We've been spoilt these last three seasons, but we need to be realistic and accept that we will lose at home throughout this season.

We were unlucky against Leicester and Soton, so there's no need to panic. Wait until the halfway point of the season before judging our home form.

3 in a row?

Palace win
Leicester loss
Blackburn win
Southampton loss
Sunderland loss

If you’re factoring in last night you have to factor in Blackburn.

Oooops. Forgot about Blackburn.
Anyway, I wasn't moaning, just wondering when the last time we had a run of home defeats. Quite the opposite of moaning really as I can't remember when that was.

I think the last time we lost 3 home league games in a row was 04/05.

Wigan 0-1 1st Jan
Brighton 1-2 15th Jan
Ipswich 0-2 5th Feb

In terms of when we last lost 3 in a row in the league at home, I believe it’s in Danny Wilson’s second season:

29/12/12 lost to Hartlepool
12/1/13 lost to Yeovil
1/2/13 lost to Coventry

Ignore me! Must have missed those 3.

When did we last lose 4 in a row at home, which looks likely with Arsenal up next after Liverpool?

Moanmoanmoanmoanmoanwhingemoanmoanmoan....
I don't understand people like you. You're on a football forum, of course people are going to be bloody moaning its what football fans do on places like this! Surely you were aware of this before you joined?

Those who moan about moaners are worse than the moaners themselves. Just like those who go on about the 'Daily Fail' constantly are worse than actual Daily Mail readers.

To answer my own question, we lost the last 4 home league games of the 1964/65 season, which looks like it was the last time we lost 4 in a row at home.

Disclaimer: the above could be bollocks as I'm in an almost catatonic state 'working' 3 months notice before moving jobs, so happy to be corrected!
