Look no further than people who applaud Ched Evans off the pitch as he yet again draws another blank (has he reached 20 consecutive yet?)
We spent most of our transfer budget (and sold Walker) on this guy. Money that could have been used so much more wisely.
And yet Ched gets clapped off week-in, week-out for picking up his £15,000 a week and doing f-all for it.
The world's gone mad I tell ya.

I'd go down the same line but replace the ched with quinn. Waste of a shirt.

I think Quinn had been playing much better wide left in recent weeks and had been one of our best players.
Moving him back to the middle and a midfield without the destructive force that is Nick Montgomery was a bit of a disaster.
I'd rather see him playing on the lefthand side than Richard Cresswell any day of the week.

A Quinn/Monty midfield is what I'd term a disaster. Williamson and Harper have to play if we're going to do anything other than launch upfield to Hendo.

Yesterday showed us without any doubt whatsoever that our midfield players cannot control a football match without Monty being in there winning the ball.
They simply aren't good enough to out-football anyone.

ive seen some poor footballers down at the lane ,but ched is taking the proverbial.
And thats from someone who gave richard cadette 15 games to shine !

It was at least nice of Monty not to give a penalty away yesterday.

I maintain that RB is a very important position and you need someone who can knock a ball over the top, especially under KB, or pick a man out. Monty can't do either because he lacks the basic skills - ie he can't kick the ball properly.

Monty has to play midfield with Willo.

It didn't help that there were only three of them out there.. We were always going to be overrun.

I'd pick Monty, but without Williamson and Harper on either side of him it's going to be ugly. Trouble is, Quinn seems to be intouchable in the eyes of the management, so how we'll ever field a balanced midfield I do not know.

Cadette scored a hatrick didn't he?

The chances of Evans scoring a hatrick are nil. He's lucky to touch it three times a match.

I seem to remember young Richard was certainly able to score against us and netted a last-minute winner down at the New Den many moons ago.
He was bobbins for us mind. Though we have seen worse.

I don't think he's untouchable but he has been playing well on the lefthand side - I think that's undeniable.
Not enough presence for the middle though - or not enough without Monty.
And it's a no-brainer who plays lefthand side out of Cresswell and Quinn and it's Quinn every time.

Yeah because without Quinn on the left who would we have to aimlessly lump the ball over their shoulder. I genuinely believe that he could be one of our better players if he actually controlled the ball and maybe looked for a pass instead of booting in on whenever it comes near him. Cresswell is not ideal on the left but at least he looks for someone to pass to and attempts to link up play. Quinn has been in the team with little or no postive impact for far too long.

No, but he nearly did. He got two in the 4-1 win over Ipswich on 26/3/88 and, when we were 4-1 up, we got a pen in the last minute. Beagrie should have taken it but let Cadette take it to get his hat trick. The goalie saved a weakish effort.

Bassett had a go at Beagrie after the game, making the point that if went down by one goal, we would regret his generous offer to RC. Going down by one goal? That would never happen....

He got Millwall's last minute winner at their place in a 2-1 win on 29/10/94. He also got a goal for Bournemouth when we beat them 4-2 at the Lane on 28/4/90.

We lost 6-0 the week after at Boro.

Just looked and very disappointed that Bristol City got 25k for the play-off and under 20k at Lane. Mind you, I recall a sense of defeat in the air before a ball was kicked. Maybe I'm imagining that - kop did explode though when Morris scored, but too late. They scored early didn't they? How many did they bring that night approx?

I was at that game and can remember nothing else but Cadette's winner. Wouldn't have a clue who turned out for us.

I would pick any player at the lane except Stewart in front of Quinn ,he is a diabloical footballer. Have you noticed how poor the left back plays when Quinn plays left wing ? Not just a coincidence. We had Treacy,Cotterill, Reid and still have Little but Blackwell for some bizarre reason persists with Quinn.

But he has been picking out passes and generally playing well wide on the left.
He simply has more ability as a footballer than Cresswell.
He has one bad game yesterday and the previous games immediately get forgotten.

I've had a thought, and its made me a little curious.

Len, correct me if I'm wrong (I know you'll correct me if I'm right too), aren't you a shareholder, and didn't you go to the AGM a few weeks back?

You see thats what I've been thinking about. Did it not occur to you, whilst the Directors and Officers of the club were there to answer questions, that it might have been a good time to ask one or two?

I mean you have so many questions here that we keep going round and round on, endlessly searching for answers, discussing them to death without a real grip on the facts. I was just wondering, didn't you take the opportunity to ask those searching questions of the people who might actually be able to give you definitive answers? Did you make any of your helpful suggestions to them, either in the meeting or privately afterwards? Did you take the bull by the horns and tell them, whilst they were sat there with you, what you are telling us on this forum?

Oh Dunc, if you don't want to talk about the finances, you don't have to. I don't think never having been a professional footballer or manager bars anyone from having an opinion about our players and manager.
Similarly, if someone simply said hello to Blackwell when they bumped into him in Tesco instead of spending an hour going through team selection and tactics I wouldn't think they couldn't possibly have an opinion to express on a football forum.
I half-heartedly went to the agm and hadn't read the annual report. I listened, didn't expect to hear much and only bothered to read it a few weeks ago when you could sense that what was being said in the transfer window wasn't necessarily going to transpire.
Clearly when you look at bit closer at some of the information in there - or not in there in the case of Kyle Walker's 'season-long' loan - there are a lot more questions than you'd otherwise think.
I don't think it's a bad thing to talk about them on here so we can gain a greater understanding. Something we clearly weren't encouraged to do with the official website guff about how much profit we'd made.
I hope that's ok.

Surely the wide men should be Ward and Yeates.

We could even try passing it to them and let them take on the full backs

What ? No Quinn ? Don't be ridiculous.

Brisca ,of course you are right ,as should have been Cotterill and Treacy earlier in the season. I don't understand why 99% of supporters can see this and Blackwell/Ellis/Speed don't or haven't they the balls to stand up to Blackwell ?

The thing is with Stephen Quinn, is that he a lot more talented with the ball at his feet, than for example Nick Montgomery.

I think a lot of the inherent problems with Stephen Quinn is the coaching he appears to have recieved . If he was told to put his foot down on the ball and play a pass when he recieved the ball, instead of knocking it down the channels he would be a lot better player overnight.

Funnily enough, quite a few of us have said this.

What would happen if I stood up in the AGM and asked 'Mr McCabe, can you update me on the current financial state of Blades Realty?'

I would get asked to leave or a get a load of corporate shite thrown back at me. He wouldn't answer the perfectly sensible questions raised by a few on here.

I'm not some lunatic making things up. I go from the accounts and CH information such as that indicating that Realty and Scarborough have not filed accounts on time. To me, that is a serious issue and I have no idea why you seem to be against people talking about it. Nobody pretends to have the facts at their disposal - that goes without saying.

What is your opinion on Realty, McCabe and huge debts backed by depreciating assets that nobody in my opinion wants to buy.

Aye, lets boo the sheep shagging over paid ponce.

I agree that he may have more footballing ability than Cresswell but in my opinion fails to show it be not taking time to control the ball and look for a pass. I think he has had a lot more than one bad game recently. It may well be that his instructions from Blackwell are to welly it over his shoulder without looking and that it is not his fault. Either way he has been very poor.

Aye, lets boo the sheep shagging over paid ponce.

EVANS is a victim of the shite system we play. Henderson (somehow) scores goals but he is shocking. EVANS was poor yesterday but can you blame him when the service is so bad.

Thing is, patience has gone out of the window in direct proportion to our finances.

Chedwyn is a £3m luxury we can no longer afford in his current hasn't scored since decimalisation state. We will need to find a buyer in summer.
