I thought this may be interesting and give anyone from the club who has a look on here an idea of how the current feeling of the fans could affect attendances/income next year.

Plenty of dissilusioned Blades out there at the moment, so lets fast forward 5 months and it's Season Ticket renewal time.

We didn't get promoted or make the play-offs and Blackwell is still in charge. We have managed to hang on to our better players but the transfer activity in has been the usual journeymen/Blackwell type cloggers.

So do you renew or what?

Couldn't be arsed after I read the bit in bold. Pure fantasy.

Although having thought on I don't think there's one player left who I could raise any emotion about being sold. So:

I've said before. If Blackwell is around next season then I won't be.

I voted not to renew but to take in the odd game. As I have said before, I would never desert them but after 20 years of renewing my ST every season I have finally come to terms with the fact that it will always end in tears. Plus its not affordable anymore. £400+ is a lot of money to find for a young man, even if it is paid in installments.

Were the hardcore Blades on here ............ its the one's that are not on Blades forums that will probably dissapear !

I will more than likely renew even though I am prettty pissed off with how things seem to be shaping up both off field and on.

I doubt I will go to as many away matches next season though. I tend to only miss 3 or 4 a season, but I will not put myself to the extra expense with the tripe being served up lately.

Renew no matter what.

For as long as I am physically able to attend, I shall be renewing.

I know many "hardcore" Blades who refuse to post/view forums as they become incredibly frustrated at people belittling their opinion when it doesn't match their own view of what the "majority" think.

oops ..... i made the mistake of generalising.

I'll renew my season ticket anyway. If it was under the above circumstances though I wouldn't be too happy about it.

I put that I'd renew. I do it every season. Say "nope, that's it, there's no way I'm renewing". I said just that after the play-off final, but always end up renewing. It's almost like a bad habit. I know I shouldn't, I don't want to do it and it makes me feel a bit weak and dirty, but I can't help myself.

I'll renew.

Going for me is still marginally better than not. Gets me out of the house, usually have a laugh regardless of the game, occasionally you see some football or a result that makes you glad you've gone.

While we're in this division, I won't be rushing to every away match though. I've been to some places too many times to justify the expense on a day out. Yesterday being a prime example. A day's annual leave meant more to me than a fourth visit to Vicarage Road.

Renew.

I'm not having Blacko dictate whether I watch my team or not. I am determined to outlast him.

I'll always renew, but I'll be desperately disappointed if Blackwell is still in charge. And more controversially, I'll be hoping for significant change in direction off the field too.

UTB

So after 4 hours the "S24SU" opinion poll has renewal season ticket sales for next season at 40%.........................

Are you watching McCabe ...................?

you've skewed the voting. 2 options for 'don't renew' and only 1 for renew.

Renew, its in the blood and its what you do, this current malaise is only temporary and hopefully will end before I finish my time in this mortal world.

So what other "renew" option could there be? Plus giving the option of not renewing but still going occasionally will demonstrate how many existing season ticket holders would do just that! So not "skewed" at all.

Plus no option for not got a ST and will be getting one next season.

The purpose of the poll was clearly for existing season ticket holders.....

Those that would renew at the moment is 48% so that would equate to what, roughly 9,000 existing ST holders renewing for next season if things stay as they are. On that basis we will be lucky to average 15K per game.

I'll renew deffo. Drinks before and drinks after on a Sat. I think I'll just do what I've done this season get in late and leave early if the dross is still being served up. I've already knocked mid-week away trips on the head this season next season I'll be more choosey about Sat aways and this will be judged on whether its a good day out for drinkies e.g. QPR or shite e.g. Scunthorpe

Torrix....I know statistics can be made to prove almost anything but a sample size of 60 odd out of 19000 I would suggest is hardly representative of anything.

It's a broad average, how do you think they come up with opinion polls?

Anyway, as I said, it's all "hypothetical" ;)

See, if you really want to go into it, I could give you the formula for working out statistical proportions in market research, allowing a margin for error and deviation.

However, it'd be a bit pointless when the poll options were so leading ;)

Renew, whatever division we're in as long as i'm still financially able to do so and as long as watching them for so long hasn't in fact turned me a bit chicken oriental!!

I'm seriously thinking of taking out better life insurance to cover heart attacks at football matches!

Yes this has worked well.
So of the 14 that said they would not renew can you all tell me roughly where you sit as I would like different seats next season and options to choose from.
You first Torrix How many season tickets have you and where?

If I still have a job and can afford to renew then I will - but if I can't it's not down to Blackwell, McCabe etc, it'll be down to RBS, HBOS and all the other charlatans at the banks.

Unfortunately there's a world beyond football.

It was just an exercise to guage opinion..............

Row Y on the Kop.

Top seats, slightly left (as you look down) of the goal. Had them since the stand was built.
There will be a set of three should Blackie still be with us next season.

Thanks. My lad wants to go on the Kop good option.
