EDIT - I see we have signed Nosworthy which may explain our absence from the rumours surrounding Naughton; i know which player i would prefer if it were a choice between the two.
This would be a blow for me, i really hoped he would come back here and we could restore Naughton and Walker as our full back pairing (toss a coin to see who gets stuck on the left)
Why do people keep saying this? Naughton and Walker were only full backs for a handful of games (i can only remember 3). naysmith was left back for the whole season and only when he got injured did we put in Naughton, as a last resort. Not only this but Naughton (allegedly) threw a tantrum about playing on the left.
They are both very good right backs. however, they are not left backs. I'd much sooner us bring in na proven left back, or more to it and good, quick centre back than bring Naughton back.
Some of our best performances (e.g. The Preston play-off matches) came with Walker on the right and Naughton on the left. Two pacy, skilful, athetic, attacking full backs. They were also about the only two players who left Wembley with any credit.
Your plan would be fine if we had a "proven left back" better than Naughton lined up and ready to come here but we clearly haven't. We've already signed two players for the position this season and neither has looked a patch on Naughton.
What about him gettng upset and saying he'd never play for Blackwell again?? Taken that inot consideration Southall??
Confirmed.
....What the hell? If it was a prem team i could understand it, if it was a London team i could understand it. If it was a top Champ side, ie a Newcastle or West Brom....i could understand it.
Instead he goes to a crap mid table club where he's dropped in at the deep end. Him coming back to us makes sense for all the right reasons. Did we not try, are Spurs being twats as usual?
Gutted.
poster on Bladesmad says its' due to finance.
Boro have paid 60% of his wage, we could only pay 30%
Whether that's right or not, I don't know
I think he wanted to return to us, but circumstances dictate.

I would be interested to know if we were in for him and if so why Middlesborough are ahead of us in the queue.

To be fair Olle, Walker only played a handful of games last season and in most of those him and Walker (if memory serves) were the chosen full-backs. Even if that is not the case, the performance of both players in the play-off final is still fresh in my memory and therefore i was keen to see that combination back on the SUFC team sheet.
He may not be a specialist left back but he has shown he is better then what we have (in every single position bar centre forward in my opinion), he knows the club and fans and is a local lad who would settle in no time.
All speculation with regards to a bust up with KB matters not to me, because in my expereince these kind of rumours are almost always not true.
You are simply wrong! How many times do I have to say it? Naughton only played left back when Naysmith was injured. Yes he had a great game in the play off final. But he is not a left back. He is not left footed.
I can't be arsed to argue. It's simply your opinion verses mine.
I personally don't think that it is a great loss not to have signed Naughton back (in light of signing Kalio and whatever his name is).
In those 3 games? He did well.
Have you seen Kalio play this year?
After all those posts daying Naughton was definitely on hi way back and Walker was definitely returning to Spurs, neither have transpired
I love how people report rumours as set in stone facts.
According to Teletext at around 2.30 pm he's coming back to us.
