So if I haven't got a clue, how is some trainee who will spend a couple of hours in the weeks leading up to a match on here going to know who to trust and who to not?

Also you're not fracturing in that maybe Wilder wants the team to be leaked for certain matches prior to match day. Whether that be to make a last minute change or for a bit of mind games.

Basically, a manager of a Professional Football Club would be bat shit crazy to trust any early team news leaks, they're better off scouting a team and trusting their scouts. If Wilder named the team in his pre-match press conference I still wouldn't 100% believe it until I'd seen the confirmed team line up at 2pm on Saturday!

I can’t comment why you’ve not picked up on it mate, but the info’s been out there and so far it’s been pretty much spot on.

As for Wilder practicing disinformation, that’d be great if true but so far it’s not been the case. It’s been out there even earlier for the Chelsea game so maybe this is the game Wilder has thrown a curved ball? Let’s wait and see.

Permit me a little bit of common sense amidst the noise and nonsense.

1. It was pre-determined that Oli McBurnie would play only 45 against Blackburn. Tufty said so in his post-match interview.

2. Centre-halves invariably win the vast majority of aerial challenges. They have the huge advantages of facing the play, seeing the ball all the way and coming on to it with momentum.

3. Oli took his goal against Lester really well. A proper centre-forward’s goal. It wasn’t “all about the cross” at all, though it was a beauty from Baldock. As I’ve always said, he’s a far better player than Freeman. That debate is now conclusively won and lost, but was never in doubt.

4. It was always barmy to imagine we would see a polished team performance against Blackburn. Ten changes was a pretty good clue to that. Knees continue to jerk at the first available opportunity on here.

5. The Blackburn game was a very useful outing for Ravel, Besic and especially The Moose. They all benefited from the game

6. The suggestion that a player (Norwood in this case) who scores one goal and assists the other in a two-one win was ‘rubbish’ is patently absolute drivel. No grey areas in S2, just brilliant or rubbish.

I'd be surprised if the level of analysis PL clubs factor into their preparations doesn't weight all possible formations, so our lineup will hold few surprises. Perhaps what is more valid is the level of detailed comment we all enjoy discussing on the forums as to the performance of individual players. Clubs who analyse such forum comments could gain uptodate consensus as to the current weaknesses on individuals. Equally so the opposite is possible, if they have bots searching key words and they pickup crap posts then that could play to our advantage...

Or they could just watch our games on Sky and decide for themselves how to play?

I’ve thought long and hard before posting this but it’s something I need to say guys. Its not a pop at an individual or individuals, just a genuine concern.

I’ve recently watched episode the Leeds documentary ‘Take us home’ and in one episode they covered Spygate. In the Sky Sports studio, Liam Rosenior’s view on the matter was “If you know the team that’s going to play against you the day before, you have an unfair advantage”. To be fair, he also mentioned other factors but this is the one what I’d like to focus on.

Anybody regularly viewing this forum in recent weeks will most likely have known our expected starting 11 and possible subs the day before our games, and if forum members can pick up on this information anybody can. If Rosenior is correct, sharing this information openly is putting our team at a disadvantage and I personally respect this guy as a professional and think that he’s right.

This isn’t anything new. Under Adams I had every starting 11 and the probable sub’s bench P.M’d to me by teatime the day before, it happens. But in a day when Premier League players and staff can’t even have a conversation without covering their lips, do we really think that other clubs won’t have people online trying to glean something (anything) that could be advantageous to their team and manager?

So what I’m suggesting is that any factual early team news is shared only by P.M.’s please? Our lads will need all the help they can get this season. UTB.

Nah. Brian Clough scenario is presumably what you had in mind. The man was totally brilliant at club level when working with a side that he had assembled (unlike what he had at L**ds) but every time I rewatch interviews with him he seems even more of a big head than I remembered and I doubt he could have ever got the national team on his side.

Chris Wilder is nowt like that. One day.
