Thought we deserved a point against Leicester but as I said what goes around comes around...

Deserved to go out of the cup on that performance tonight worst for a while.

The back 5s first game together and it told very sloppy, thought our strikeforce would have done better tho, Besic looked ok, liked Rav but not much other pluses tonight.

Liked the look of Blackburns no.2, bullied Osborn.

I would rather the what comes around being the other way round.

They weren’t that bad. After they missed the penalty they didn’t really create much, and it took a combination of our back line falling asleep and a great header to get back into it. On the whole I was happy with what I saw, Mousset’s gonna be a handful once he’s fit and Morrison is superb on the ball but an absolute lunatic off it.

I would say tonight was about a 6 out of 10.
Wilder should look at offloading Stearman to Blackburn in exchange for Lenihan. He looked comfortable, competent and in complete in control in defence.

Agreed, at the same tome I thought Osborne did well, unlike most others.

I'd put Mousset on bench against Chelsea if his match fitness is up to scratch

What, exciting performance from Moose and Ravel, Freeman will keep Doyle out, Osbourne was bullied a bit by a very good No2 but kept him contained, Moore was excellent. Besic’s tackling had them lifting their legs and making them play early balls.
Poor tonight were Sharp, McBernie and Norwood distribution.
Blackburn are a good well drilled side but offered very little other than chasing us down and breaking up play.

I don’t see why not, he looks stronger than I expected and he’s got a decent touch. He’s a good option to have and someone I’d definitely want on our side rather than playing against us

I’ve sat in the south stand about twenty times over the last few decades and every time it’s like this - shite.

The common denominator - early rounds of the cups, and lots of changes. I shouldn’t be surprised - multiple changes brings out the worst in everyone.

Mcburnie was a worry for me tonight. Service to him was poor but he lost every ariel challenge and never linked up with Sharp either. Extremely average performance. Besic likes a challenge but will need to as his first touch was piss poor. Very disappointing from the rest other than MOTM Moore (IMO) and a cameo from Mousset.

Norwood poor? He wasnt as good as that and he may have put his starting place at Chelsea in jeopardy

You are very easily pleased TK, that was up there with one of our poorest performances under Wilder.

They were fucking shit in defence.
They were fucking shit in midfield and they were fucking shit up top.
Apart from that you're right.

Maybe you’re right, but last night was never going to be a coherent performance, and I dare say the result didn’t even really matter. We got minutes in the legs of players that needed it, and I felt each new signing showed something to be excited about. I agree the defence was shaky, but even after 5 changes to it, it still ended up getting re-jigged after 20 minutes and looked more of a back 4 when Stevens came on. Yer miserable sods ;)😜

Wonder why only Norwood started from saturday? He was very poor tbh. Maybe dropped on Saturday?

“Lunatic off it” please explain?

I have a feeling he might lose his place on Saturday. He’s been really sloppy of late.

That said, we need that role filling, and nobody else does.

Agreed mate ….. we didn't deserve to progress on last night's display which was sloppy, poor passing, poor control of the ball and lacked imagination. Blackburn looked a better side for much of the game.

However; it shows how opinions differ …… I thought Osborne looked ok, good engine and I thought he bullied their big full-back. Rav looked ok second half …. good skill to set up Norwood though. I would be terrified to put Besic into a Premiership game as the pansy Premiership players are rolling around on the floor if the wind blows too strong and we can't afford to play with 10 men.

Not impressed with the defence at all, but Moore did well when needed and Mousett looks quick & strong but didn't see enough of him to form much more of an opinion.

I wondered if we're still interested in Lenihan, their CH as an upgrade on Basham? 🙄;)

Blackburn looked a better side for much of the game.

That’s because this was Blackburn’s proverbial “Cup Final”.
Middling Championship team up against the might of a Premier League side, determined to cause an upset.
These early round League Cup games are notable for lack of atmosphere and meaning.

Look at the low-key goal celebrations...and if Moore had made a double save like that at Stamford Bridge he would have been swamped. Instead just a mild “we’ll done lad” from one of his team mates.
