Our transfer listed players and 25 man squads

Blades currently have 24 players with squad numbers out of a maximum of 25. We have several players who are transfer listed yet we haven’t included any of them and are a man short of our max. Last week Palace listed their 25, but looking at the other 2 games we have played, Leicester listed 29 players with squad numbers, Bournemouth the other week listed 34! Are there only some clubs sticking to the rule? How do we know which of Bournemouth’s 34 or Leicester’s 29 are allowed to play?

I don't see us adding anyone. we will keep that one space for January should we need to add. the only other space I can see opening up is Stearman leaving. which would allow us to add two players in Jan should we see the need.

Players under a certain age that are homegrown don't count towards the 25. Or summat like that anyway.

Diego Reyes would be worth a shout. Good passer by all accounts. And CB is where we need cover.

Wont be possible until 2nd January (the day after we play at Anfield)

Clubs can/will have more players with a squad number than the 25 limit for the reasons mentioned above (under 21 etc.) but also there is no limit on squads for the domestic cup competitions. We might have someone on the bench tomorrow that isn't in our premier league 25 for example.

I don't see us adding anyone. we will keep that one space for January should we need to add. the only other space I can see opening up is Stearman leaving. which would allow us to add two players in Jan should we see the need.

You don't need to keep a space for January as you resubmit the 25 man squad after that window. We don't gain anything by having a spare slot rather than sticking someone like Leon in it.

It's a weird system though as you name your squad when the Premier League's idiotic self-imposed transfer window shuts, but it isn't published until after the real transfer window shuts in September, which leaves potential to remove anyone who leaves a club or add in any free agents.
