My cousin is currently selling limited edition prints of famous Blades moments and I thought some of you lot may be interested in them. I have purchased 5 myself and they look great. £1 goes to charity for every print sold too!

Is this the next
"The View from .............." ?

It's nothing to do with me to be fair. I have no talent. I just got some this weekend from him and was impressed. I've got the 4 from last season in a frame.

He's had to remove the badge and the sponsors I know that much

That's not deep enough, unless he's got express permission on the original images and the likeness in name and looks on the logo unfortunately :)

I'll pass it on. Cheers Foxy

No worries, not trying to be the bearer of bad news, more make aware the issues likely to be on the horizon if they get noticed! :)

Yeah I appreciate it. I've passed on the information so it's up to him if he wants Neville and Carragher barging through his door and arresting him now

i'm sure he will be fine, Carragher couldn't fit through the fucking front door these days, just tell him to close all windows to avoid flying spit

Didn't one of these end up on the table on soccer am at the weekend?

That's the one. All great stuff to be honest

Copyright laws go a lot further than the Premier League mate!

But the Prem is particularly heavy handed, the EFL didn't give a shit about unofficial merch.

Sellers of those little badges have told me that the Prem has sent them letters telling them in no uncertain terms that badges of Prem teams are not to be sold (not that they take any notice and sell them anyway :D ).

That's what get's me badge sellers been outside Lane & on Clough Road and such donkeys years, the PL I'm afraid really does have it's own head so far up it's own arse for self importance.

If I was the club I’d be getting involved with the Merch Producers. They could sell these in the shop or through the website and do it all officially. Both parties benefit. I for one would love these as a set of placemats.

Have to say the prints look great - what about if he took his own pictures in future? Would they be OK or would the fact that the club kit appears on them still be a factor even though he owned the images?

Deleted this post. Did a bit more research and doesn't really cover what I posted

Yeh, I saw your post earlier about image rights contracts, seemed reasonable. I was just trying to explore a possible alternative for the OP to get round the EPL rights etc and continue with the merch, but sounds like it's a minefield and possibly bit risky.

I once produced some kid's educational software and had similar issues/warnings about intellectual property rights on images, ended up producing all my own artwork and sound effects totally from scratch in the end, probably wasn't worth it financially but was a rewarding project to do at the time.
