Just a thought, but, if we're on Sky, and the cameras are predominantly on the South stand, why don't the club just sell tickets for the other 3 sides first, and when they've sold, then sell any seats available on the south??

You're right: and I remember only too well the tactics with Warnock. He was a yittener away from home in the Prem - scared to bloody death of what teams might do to us. His tactics cost us our Premiership place - not Carlos Tevez. Anyhow...

Wilder is different gravy. He will look to take any game by the scruff of the neck, home or away. But I agree with you and a few others on here who've noticed that Wilder seems to be easing us into the division, taking it a bit more cautious than we normally do. I thought when we went 1 down at Bournemouth we started to see a bit of the old United come out. Last 20 mins we really had Bournemouth on the ropes and deserved our equaliser at the very least. I think we'll get to a point this season where he starts to unleash that free-flowing, attacking football, more regularly on teams. But at the moment, he's turning the tap on slowly - and turning it off again early if it looks like we've got a result.

I'm looking forward to seeing us go behind again tbh. Because then he'll let the dogs loose much earlier and we'll have a right game on our hands to watch.

Because the SS will sell out quickly anyway? But here's another thought. Maybe the cameras would be better on the JSS side? That way, the cameras would see the 'best and fullest stand' and the electronic advertising would be more visible as it would be in the shade on sunny days.

I've long thought that the 'new' Wembley has got it the wrong way round. Seats for the North (tunnel) side are sold first so the stadium appears full(er) on TV, but they're the ones in the blaring sun - a bugger for the big games in May - August. The electronic signage would be more visible and - at Wembley - we'd be spared the sight of the 'corporate' lard-arses waddling back to their seats halfway through the second-half in the Club Wembley area.

I think Norwich will get a rude awakening. You can't outscore P.L. opposition with such young players who will find it hard to maintain their levels as the season unfolds. Their defence is a disaster already happening and their midfield does not protect them enough. They had a small full back marking Van Djik at corners and what an awful own goal at Anfield. Saying Palace are no measure is rich when they played the worst team in the league, poor old Toon. Amazing how little money they spent but an interesting approach.

However they think experienced Players of the Seasons from established Championship clubs cannot maintain their levels is strange. Our new players all have quality, don't worry about that. Freeman, Jagielka, McBurnie, Osborn nailed on, just great at what they do. Mousset might take time. Morrison an unknown quantity but we are not relying on him. We have deep, deep cover, better than ever before.

I'm afraid the two tackles by Lundstram and Baldock were very poor. There was hardly anything else for the referee to worry about in 99 minutes football.

Henderson - very little to do, punched well once but flapped another.

O’Connell - terrific

Egan - terrific

Basham - did well

Baldock - not his biggest fan but a very good game from him.

Stevens - just gets better and better MOM for me. Looks stronger faster fitter than ever.

Lundstram was very effective in a way but dribbled the ball out of play off his first touch 4 times.

Norwood - passing is sublime

Fleck - was playing well until he got injured I thought

McGoldrick - grew into the game but miss is unacceptable at this level we can’t be missing chances like that. Lost the ball more often than his usual self.

Robinson - really like what we have in an athletic and dynamic striker.

So not really surprised we didn’t get rave reviews - i thought the performance was disciplined but we have so so so much more to come.

I'm sure Roygbiv takes a balance of the views on other Forums but I do think the more folk do these collections, the more fans will write to those audiences, especially the idiots.

I think the comments often represent the culture of the club and their fans, their confidence, their current form players, their playing system and their weaknesses.

I do agree that a cross section of our own Forum would show wildly differing comments though.

One side of my family are all Man Utd fans. Theyve lived in a bit of a bubble for the last 20 years, but in the last 3 or 4 years (while they've been a bit shit) they've opened their footballing minds and found a bit of appreciation for what's going on around them.

A couple of them watched the Sheff Utd games on the telly/red button last 2 seasons and would message me about how we were doing.

Unheard of while Ferguson was there.

I thought we were very well disciplined individually and as a team but on the ball loose in possession and turned it over too easily. defence looks a lot better than I thought but still think Jagielka should be in Basham’s role.
