What an atmosphere it was yesterday! If we keep it like that all season not many teams will fancy coming to the lane! It was good just walking out at full time seeing all the happy faces. These are the best times we have had in a LONG time. Let’s enjoy the ride and keep backing the boys like that because it’s the least they deserve. UTB ⚔️

It was nailed on to be a brilliant atmosphere yesterday to be honest but it certainly didn't let us down absolutely brilliant as you say also I said the same thing walking back to the car about the smiling happy faces, can't stay as good all season but there will be times when we beat a top six side where it will be even better, great innit 😊

I expected nothing less. It's always a great atmosphere when we play well against a "big" team at the Lane, and most games this season will be against big teams. The last time the atmosphere was really shit was under Adkins, when we were regularly putting in poor home performances. The test will be if we're losing at home to Spurs or Everton. I hope the fans will appreciate our efforts even if we are losing. As long as everyone is putting in a shift (and they will be) there's no place for negativity from the terraces this season. I'm sure the crowd helped lift us yesterday, and they will do it again.

Yeah if the lads carry on playing with that hunger and passion on show yesterday (which I’m sure they will) we could be in for some cracking days/nights at the lane.

I thought it was decent, but I still think we’ve room for improvement. We’ve created more hostile atmospheres in the past imo.

More party atmosphere yesterday, happy to be back sing your hearts out type of atmosphere.

Once we become more competitive the hostility will be there in spades.

I remember the atmosphere when we played Charlton in the 6th round of the FA Cup under Clough and that was fantastic atmosphere. The singing of Chip butty song I think is still on YouTube it was so good but yesterday.... Wow I have never heard anything like it! It was only when I watched the recording on Sky that I heard that half the stadium was slightly out of sync. with the other but what the hell! Shame but what an atmosphere and can't wait for the arrival of Manure, Arsenal, Everton who I really think we could beat on our day. And who knows even Man City, Liverpool and Spurs? Bring 'em on.

Yesterday reminded me of the Brentford first home game in the Champ. We were solid and made a half decent side look very ordinary.

Let's hope we grow into the division, just like we did back then :)

I said exactly the same yesterday.....it also reminded me of the Brentford game.
Although we were decent and showed plenty of spirit and desire
Let’s be honest.....we were (understandably) quite cautious.
Once we get used to the new league I expect us to start dominating matches against the weaker sides, like last season.

I think the test will come when we play a Brighton, Norwich or Burnley to be honest not Everton or spurs

Still think that Charlton game was the loudest I've ever heard it and that's including the cup runs in 02/03 etc.

Should have heard the moaning and castigation of McGoldrick behind me after his miss. FFS. Went on and on and on!! And on! No need for it. Just get behind the team please!!

I am sure that those of us of a certain age can confirm that yesterday was on a par with the very best for atmosphere and positivity (don't like the word, but can't think of another). The great days up to the 70s had much of the noise drifting away over the cricket pitch, and really good times in the last 45 years have been few and far between. If everyone sticks together, from warring co-chairmen to bickering fans, there is a chance that this management/players combination could be the start of something really special. Remember that when we give away a daft goal or Wilder selects a player who has not shown many signs previously of being a good choice: this club at the moment deserves our full support (though the ticketing system needs a tweak - let's be happy sticking to that for our grumbles!)

Was very quiet for long periods from my south stand seat

OK when the players came out the tunnel and for the GCB but was a bit flat until Zaha started to dick around and wind the fans up. The ref then gave the crowd a bit more impetus with some dodgy decisions. Be nice to see the same atmosphere being generated without this kind of "encouragement"!

There was a guy sat behind me who did nothing but have a go at the players all match. I honestly felt like turning round and explaining to him we'd just gone up and were playing established Premier League players now and we were finding out feet.

I think he expected us to tear them a new one like we had some Championship teams last season. If he's sat behind me all season I'll be moving, he actually spoilt the match for me.

Brilliant atmosphere when the players ran out and for GCB. Then I thought it went pretty quiet for a long spell. Reminiscent of last season where the crowd seems to hold its breath until we get a goal. Once we had scored it was very raucous again.

We seem to have lost the knack of rousing the team to perform better. Seems to have to work the other way round.

Most noise of the day...When Bash sprinted out of nowhere to get back and nip the ball off the palace player in injury time.
Hands down the loudest noise I’ve heard at the Lane!!
Would love to be on the pitch at those
Moments to experience it.

I'm sure Bash gave it a proper fist pump afterwards as well 🤣

Always be a few who can find something to moan about when it comes to the BL atmosphere.

Not a ground in the country that is noisy for 90 minutes under any circumstances.

Seemed a little flat after half time and before we scored.

McBurnie was asking for more encouragement from the JSS late on too.
Good luck to him there. I'm in JSS row F and it is very quiet at times.

Moved towards the back of SS this season and pleasantly surprised to find some attempts at chanting. I think I can put up with Mr Quality behind me. The bloke used the one word all match with such subtle inflection of pronunciation that you could tell when he approved, was in awe, was appealing, frustrated or angry and all emotions in between. Quality.
