Luckily enough i have a S/T but after seeing the home ticket details today alot of people are going to be disappointed this season.
I think first day purchases are something like 30k+ loyalty points which is same as the system for away matches as we know.

Has they been any mention of upgrading BDTBL in recent months that ive missed? I know the court mess has been in the way. This season is too late now but surely if we stay up we need at least a 5k increase on the Kop/South stand?

I doubt that anyone with that kind of points total wont have a season ticket anyway so I suspect tickets will still be available right down the points totals.

Its been said a number of times over the years by the owners that it would take a sustained period in the top flight (or with high attendances) to make it worthwhile.

I think the last comment by KM was that building work will commence as soon as it’s confirmed we’re safe.
That was a year or two ago, and obviously his position has changed and I’m not convinced the Prince is interested in expansion.

If we stay up with an average of 30k then its a no brainer? Get all the young uns on the good side of Sheffield in.

If KM is still involved, that would be the case.

As others have said, those with the most loyalty points have season tickets anyway so there will still be plenty of tickets left for non-ST holders.

But it would be nice for the club to give a bit of guidance on this is it worth buying a membership if you have 10000 points or just £40 down the swanny

You would hope so, and if he sells in the meantime you would think the new owners would have a similar view, as he's sold them the vision.
Alternately if the Prince wins the court case, I'm not sure any expansion plans would be realised.

IF we manage to stay up then work to improve and extend the Kop should commence which will then modernise the outdated / poor facilities, increase commercial revenue (better bars, refreshments and possibly office or retail units at the rear) and provide additional seating for say another 3,000 to 4,000.
Whilst these works are in progress then a new permanent structure should be built between the Kop and the South Stand which could then provide a better Media Area as well as possibly more office or corporate facilities (again, increasing commercial revenue).

IF we then managed to achieve a sustained period in the 'upper echelons' of football then a further extension to the South Stand (including yet further corporate, bar and restaurant facilities) should be built to provide yet more seating for Home supporters - say a further 5,000 seats.
This would then allow the Club to also offer a greater number of tickets to away supporters (where nearly all would sell out an allocation of say approx. 6,000) an therefore enhance the atmosphere during match days in the process (all subject to South Yorkshire Police approval of course!).
Whilst carrying out these works, the 'Pukka Pie' corner should be redesigned and redeveloped to either provide enhanced viewing / facilities for disabled supporters, to 'merge' better with either the Kop or John Street Stands or something else because as it stands at the minute it just looks like exactly what it is (a mish-mashed 'add-on' that doesn't really look like it belongs).

With a Crystal Ball (and in an ideal world where everything turns out just fine, Sir Chris Wilder signs a Contract for Life - with no buy out clause and we're finishing top half year in year out), we then have a ground that'll accommodate 40,000+ supporters, with an even better atmosphere, with superb facilities in all areas of the ground (except for possibly in the away end) and a team that is right up there in English Football . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

If Carlsberg did ground developments . . . . . . . . . . . . . :)

They must have based the 30K loyalty points on the information on the ticket database, so there must be at least a few hundred without a season ticket but with over 30K points. There is no point setting it so high and only selling a handful of tickets on the first few days.

Agreed. I have 14,000 loyalty points, kids are Junior Blades but have not built up substantial loyalty points yet and I would want to be going with them. I will be joining as a member, as I will then have an outside chance of tickets but I suspect it will be wasted money as tickets will always have sold out before it gets to the kids loyalty point level. Even if I ditch them no guarantee.

I hope not but I am worried it will be first season since 1978 I wont be able to get to any match this season.

It's absolutely disgusting in my opinion.

There will be people who have a fair chunk of loyalty points and no season ticket because of that fuck up this season, so that's a fair few gone you'd imagine.

Then there's an additional multi day wait for people without memberships, so you could have enough loyalty points but because you've not spent £40 to guarantee yourself nothing, you've even less chance to get a ticket.

Really need more seats.

Accepting the risk of being heartless (I'm not honestly), the club were very clear around the early bird offers and the need to renew to secure your seat.
I 100% accept the disappointment of some who didn't realise, and I know fans who have been ST holders for years, far more dedicated than myself who have missed out, but I knew the deadline and acted accordingly.
The ground clearly isn't big enough if we're in the Premiership, and I think it's shit we have to reserve seats for each game to be available over previous ST holders, but ultimately if you ignore notifications to renew, and others take that opportunity then you run a real risk of missing out. Those that did miss out have my genuine sympathy and I think it's unfortunate, but I'm not really sure what the club was supposed to do differently.
It's probably scant consolation but me and my ST holder mates have set up a group chat whereby if anyone isn't attending a match will offer their ticket(s) to those who didn't renew in time. Maybe this is something that could be done to a wider audience, although it may be frowned upon by the club.

According to wikipedia, our current ground capacity is 32,609. I understand a few seats have been lost to the increased media box, however it should still be around the 32,000 mark. How many games do you think we'll get 32,000?

Probably none.

There is going to be a big demand for the top 6 matches, but the other 13 teams, it should be fairly easy in the main to get tickets.

So if all you are interested in is seeing the top 6 glamour matches, then there is a decent chance you will be disappointed, but if you just want to go to the Lane to watch the Blades and aren't arsed about the opposition you'll be able to see a fair few matches.

In my opinion, those who are only interested in seeing us against Man City, Liverpool, Man U etc. can go fuck themselves.

The change to needing a membership to use loyalty points was made a few seasons ago, not this season. A lot of people just didn't notice it until now as it only affected away game attendees who didn't have active season tickets (of course, it didn't affect home tickets until now).

According to wikipedia, my prick's a kipper.

Only if we secure our place in the prem for the next 3 years if not what’s the point. When we’re back playing minnows like Wendy and Leeds all the glory hunters will be back in there arm chair

I don't blame the club at all, not sure there is a better way to do it. But how does a kid (mine is 9) get 20,000 loyalty points? Season tickets not really an option for us this season. In the same way I watched Woodward, Sabella and Edward's it is a shame he wont get to see the current players as he enjoyed it last season. I accept though season tickets are now the only answer even if you can only attend 6 games a season.

Yeah I know, I'm not bothered about that particularly, it's the amount of loyalty points for home games.

It's bollocks.

I'd understand say, a 1000 limit to stop daytrippers, games against Wendy, and take big category A* games had it in the championship.

The club are giving no chance to huge swathes of people though, and frankly it stinks.

I understand the away loyalty points, that's fine, but everyone should have the chance to go for a home game, first come first served was fine.

I totally agree which is why we need an expansion to grow our base and allow more people to come to odd games.

It's not so much the people missing out on season tickets, as you say if you boil it down and look dispassionately, that's at least partly on them.

I just think, apart from a daytripper points limit, I think any fan should have the chance to see the Blades at the Lane.

First come first served, everyone understands, if you miss out fair enough you weren't quick enough, but you've got a chance.

Wouldn't even care if it was first come first served but you need a membership.

I just think it's crap that the people who can't afford a season ticket mainly, miss out on seeing us.

This is basically a quasi-season ticket, the same people if they can afford it, will be guaranteed a seat if they have enough points.

Like others have said, the majority of people with lots of loyalty points will have season tickets. I'd wait and see what they come down to, you may be pleasantly surprised?

Unfortunately for me, I think every one will sell out. Last time we were in the Premier League we had 19,000 season ticket holders this time we have 26,000.
