A smoke-free Bramall Lane

We'll see what happens. It's the same ban which has always been in place. Can I see the same old four or five stewards suddenly chucking out hundreds of smokers from the base of the Kop stairs at half time?

Could be fun to watch if they tried. Smoke 'em if you got 'em!

They tried to enforce a ban there a few years back. A couple of stewards got smacked and so they abandoned it.

Honestly I think vapists are worse than smokers.

Fucking massive clouds of opal fruit smoke suffocating me every 5 seconds.

Yeah, it's not carcinogenic but that's all its got going for it. The fact that it's a fucking hobby now, Christ.

Grown adults raving about their own vape juice blends and how they've got a new coil so they can do even bigger clouds.

Gets right on my tits.

“Anyone found in breach of this rule will be subject to the Club's disciplinary procedures, which may result in ejection from the stadium and/or possible further action by the club, including the withdrawal of any season ticket without reimbursement, the withdrawal of the right to purchase a ticket and a stadium ban.”

Some hope to those that missed out on buying season tickets this year...

Smoke Free Premier League Sheffield United would like to kindly remind all supporters that in accordance with Premier League Ground Regulations, smoking is not permitted anywhere within Bramall Lane. This also includes the use of electronic cigarettes and vaporisers.

This not only includes the inside of the stadium, but all other areas including toilets, concourses, stairwells, bars, restaurants and other corporate lounges, as well as the media areas.

We would also like to remind supporters that there is no re-admittance to Bramall Lane, should any supporter wish to exit the stadium in order to smoke.

We appreciate the cooperation of all supporters regarding this matter.

I added something to the above copy/paste from main site.

Great regulation my nose will be so happy now.

Everyone knows smokers are social lepers but, the council are introducing a clean air policy so old cars pay more to come into city. They don't do that for smokers do they so, ask yourself which is most dangerous (cars) but easiest to pick on (smokers).

I think a good idea.Been to many a sporting event where smoking was allowed and totally took away from the experience.

Vaping is fucking stupid

Shit, I was that fed up of punching kidneys, I was going to vape the fuckers.2694E39D-14E6-4DB3-9BDB-CD915B22423F.jpeg

I think that the club knows that it will probably be ignored in the traditional smoking areas, but they have to be seen to be towing the PL line.

Taking someone's season ticket off them without reimbursement for smoking or vaping in an outside area where Blades fans have had a drink and a smoke for the past 100 years sounds a bit harsh. If that does happen to anyone, I'll be amazed - and my opinion of the club will fall if it happens.

No one smokes in their seats. Most smokers are very considerate and have one in the open air, well away from the stands. How could that totally take away from your experience?

Fair enough if the case at Bramall Lane just some stadiums been too here in the States that wasn't the case or maybe the other fans just didn't give a damn.Probably the latter

Probably worth remembering that stewards can eject you from the ground but that's about the limit of their powers. If they ask to see ID you are under no obligation to show it. As long as you don't tell them your name or s/t number they can't ban you.

I'm totally opposed to smoking in seats or covered areas, out of respect for others. But smokers should be allowed to have a fag in the open air, away from the stands, just like they are legally allowed to in the open air in other places.

Personally I can’t stand smoking but to have a total ban on smoking seems unreasonable and well over the top.

Inside or in enclosed spaces then it’s makes sense to have a ban
But surely there must be a place where smokers go, away from the main areas.

Can see there being trouble because smoking is there to help relieve stress.
So at matches is the time when people need to smoke the most.

Like I said, I presume the club is obliged to do this due to PL rules. I doubt anyone is going to be banned and have their season ticket confiscated. If that happened there would be a massive outcry.

Most PL stadiums aren't like ours. I doubt many -- if any -- have large areas open to the elements where fans congregate at half time, like the Lane does.
