They've got covers over the pink seats on John Street by the looks of it.

Can you dye seats? Is that a thing? Put a chemical on them, cover them up and they magically turn red?
If the plastic is anything like what is used on cars yes you can bring the colour back to life in about 2 minutes. Just heat the plastic up and just before melting point the colour comes back to the surface in even the most sun bleached plastics.

Down there this morning buying the away shirt and there is lots of workmen around. There are skips everywhere. My seat was still there last time I looked on recent pics of the ground. Probably be in one of those skip soon enough.

On a related note for those who were following it...(bored by it!).... I am not surprised that after the ticket office manager said she would set up a meeting for me with either McCarthy or Bettis (he sent the original relocation letter) to discuss the way we were moved and our options for forthcoming seasons...we have heard nothing some 5 weeks later. No letter from either in response to mine/no phone call...nada.

Even the insulting promise of our club shop voucher to compensate has failed to materialise. I accept I have been moved and not going to change it but I would like a chat after what options we have for future seasons seen as though I have been bunged in a vastly inferior seat with no recompense at all.

Maybe I should just leave it but I guess that's what they hoped would happen.

My Uncle was furious...He was very close to just asking for his money back and not going anymore but at the moment fighting cancer...sufc probably not a priority. I ain't that arsed about the money but he is saying he cannot believe they are still charging us full whack for seats we did not want/choose.

It's not impressive, it's rushed and tinpot.

Impressive would be doing the south stand rebuild and having it in there... or doing the kop refurb and putting it where it's intended to go, in the kop corner.
It’s a temporary thing. When the kop is rebuilt it’ll be knocked down and done properly ie as shown in the plans.

That’s well strange. The covers? go over some of the white seats too. Can’t imagine what’s going on there.

Blades is being changed to T' Prince ahead of the court ruling.

It does look odd, can't think what they'd be therefore unless it to protect them from work on the roof.

Potentially could be to build up heat so that the colour of the seats returns

I'm disappointed with this situation. I think it should serve as a warning to all of us.

Or are the covers some kind of attempt to simply try and stop them fading in the sun any more than what they already have?
That said, you'd have to cover them all so . . . . . . . . . ???

Did you not ask to speak to someone whilst you were down there today?

It’s a fucking shambles, this, the website, the superstore; we couldn’t be less prepared for the PL.

That’s a good point – were you offered the seat as a souvenir? I remember when they got rid of the wooden seats fans were able to take them – my late uncle fixed it to the exterior of his home in Wales...

Ok, i'll bite. What did you expect to be built since our promotion in May. Neither south stand or kop would be ready. Reducing are capacity for potentially one season in the Prem? What if we get relegated? We sold out twice, maybe three times last seasons so the demand isnt there if we were to drop back down. I would rather every single penny is given to Chris Wilder to make us a solid Prem side over the next 2/3 years then we can indulge in Fans vanity projects.

A lot of people just love to have a moan at United. Christ just enjoy the ride don't be negative 'It's not impressive, it's rushed and tinpot' bollocks

Dont bother thinking you can pop down to the ticket office or shop and park in the car park at the moment Its full of workmens cars. Street parking only. Not ideal.

The treatment that Deadbat and the rest have received, with regard to the seat relocation, is simply not good enough (appalling really considering we, the supporters, are the life blood of the Football Club . . . . . . . right?!).

However, I know that others have also experienced exactly the same communication problems with the club recently and I personally know someone who has contacted the club with numerous suggestions (good suggestions too) but either received no response at all OR a very vague / simple knock-back without any real explanation for the rejection.
These suggestions included improving the disabled facilities for both Home AND away fans (better location / choice of seats + converting the usual netted off area in the away end into a 'raised' disabled section for away supporters) as well as offering the Mascot Packages (or at least a reasonable number of them) on a raffle / lottery type basis for those families who could simply never afford to pay such prices - suggestions about getting sponsorship or asking players who earn £2,000 per week (sorry £20,000 per Week!!) to contribute and provide the less fortunate with such an opportunity / experience??
Instead, the disabled facilities will simply remain as is and the Mascot Packages will remain so they can squeeze as much money as possible from the supporters (whilst appearing to obtain sponsorship deals for the likes of corner flags and highlights shown on the 'big screen').

In short, and I guess the point I'm trying to make here is, the club will always role out the statement about being a 'family club' and how the supporters are 'an essential part of it's make-up' but truth be told, when it really comes down to it, we are all just something to make regular contributions to 'the business model' and nothing more than turnover really - there's no real need to give that much of a shit about us as there'll always be someone else to come along and 'contribute' accordingly eh?!

I was also affected by this and wrote a letter to Mr Bettis. I'm still awaiting his reply too!

I have written another letter...phone calls have not been returned.

A raised disabled area would be a good idea but I’m not sure which area you mean that’s usually netted off in the away end that would be suitable?

I hope you get it sorted. I suspect that when the court case is done and ownership is resolved they’ll be a few people getting their arses kicked.

Well, the very last section (nearest the South Stand) nearly always appears to be netted off so my friend simply suggested - why not remove the seats completely if they're never going to be used anyway and form some kind of ramped access with 2 or 3 different levels for disabled away fans to view the game from.
Probably not the best view ever but would still provide an alternative and make use of a space that never usually gets used??
As for disabled Home supporters, he also enquired whether there were any long term plans to possibly utilise the Pukka Pie corner (when / if the Kop redevelopment works are carried out).

I was also affected by this and wrote a letter to Mr Bettis. I'm still awaiting his reply too!
I, too, wrote and am hoping for a reply when time allows. As the occupier of only a single seat, my relocation was easier.

Nothing to do with the crap D_B and others are going through, but does anybody know if we’ve replaced or are replacing the washed out seats in streetwise corner and John Street?
