Wilder getting twitchy as the season gets nearer.

I still think we should sign Adrian for a year just in case any of a number of things could transpire with or without Henderson.

Moore is not good enough for the Prem and double cover is preferable anyway.
I always think this.
I mean, what would we do if Henderson did his cruciate at Bournemouth? Transfer window is closed, Moore and Dewhurst for the season?

I think clubs are allowed to bring in emergency GK cover but that would be only if Henderson (if he arrives) and Moore are unavailable. I agree that Moore is not Prem standard but Adrian would be a fairly major investment. Really surprised they didn't go for Marshall at Hull although it appears he'll play regularly at Wigan next season, which he may have preferred anyway given his age.

If he wants to play he has to drop down a level. He know's he's not going to play games in the Prem he's simply not good enough.
The question is then why are we even keeping him on? If he’s not good enough and more importantly he himself thinks that he’s not good enough he shouldn’t even be on our bench in the PL. If Henderson was to be injured for any length of time Moore will be our first choice keeper. That was my point really, because of the Henderson situation, we’ve been playing Moore in all the preseason games and building his hopes up that he could figure when I’d have thought that he’d be 3rd choice at best or even sold. Keeper is the one position we can’t piss about with. We need strength in depth, not somebody who’s maxed out in League One.

As I've said previously I couldn't agree more

Norwich already have Krul and have also signed Fahrmann.
Villa are also pretty weak at GK, was expecting them to sign someone by now.

I would assume that Simon Moore is now on a fairly substantial wage. I doubt very much a Championship team would want him as first choice. Therefore it would mean him taking a huge wage cut to be a back-up in the Championship or start in League 1. When he's currently first choice and presumably back-up at a Premier League club. I know what I'd do. I'd chance my hand at getting Premier League game time should the first choice be suspended/injured. It's why we need to sign two keepers, not one.

Henderson’s Instagram today shows him at Carrington.
He’s clearly back in the U.K.- is it to sort out his contract and then loan?
I know no one really knows- but personally the fact he’s in the U.K. and not away with Man U appears promising

Could you imagine if social media had existed in the olden days?

Rumour Mill: Incoming? Bobby Campbell

"Bobby Campbell's in town; he's just checked into The Railway"

Next day: "Campbell is in town again - checked into The Railway."

Rumour Mill: Outgoing? Simon Tracey

"He's going nowhere - he's just checked into Napoleon's.

Rumour Mill: Tony Currie

JL94x4 Off to Man Utd, first million pound player. You heard it here first.

If the worst scenario happens and Hendo doesn't come back ....who we fancying ..within our budget ...bearing in mind it will probably be the most important position next season

Adrian
Vorm
Randolph

?

Nobody jumping out for me at the minute ...

It’s all getting a little tiresome with Hendo if I’m honest.
What I don’t get, is that he claims he wants to play for Man U, yet he’s just seen their number one keeper get a huge new long term deal!
He’s at least 2 years away from leaving as no clubs could afford to buy a player with such a long contract.
Hendo also insists he won’t sit on a bench and would rather play, and sees himself as England number one.
That means he needs to be playing premier league football and be good at it. Man U wouldn’t sell him to a big rival like City/ Arsenal/Liverpool/Spurs etc...which means he needs games at a club like United.

Bear with me, I’m getting to the point.

Hendo is apparently being offered a new Man U deal, quite a good pay rise with long term security. If he accepts that then to me he just becomes another prisoner to a top club. They have complete control over the next 5 years!
Surely if he’s so confident in his ability, determined to play and get himself as Man U first choice his best option is to get a transfer. If he’s so good Man U will buy him back!
That way all the uncertainty is gone, he can settle down and get his game perfected. I honestly think the best deal for him would be a transfer to us. Refuse the contract offer and just get back ASAP and playing.

More or less what I wanted to say. Henderson is unfortunately blinkered by being a Man Utd fan. It's hindering his ability to make a sensible decision.
This also shows up the ridiculousness of the loan system, where a player is owned by a club that will likely never play him whilst another club would happily have him and play him every week, but he isn't available to buy.

Well if we do move on to someone else where does it leave Henderson? Still at man United but 4/5 th choice so out on loan obviously but it's getting a bit late for a premier league team so it's back to the championship where there would still be takers I presume even at this late stage, this isn't what Ole and Dean want/need so they ought to seriously consider the alternatives before wilder moves elsewhere, may well be a bigger loss for them than us.

I thought it was common knowledge that Solskjaer had cancelled bringing him over for their preseason tour: https://www.manchestereveningnews.c...anchester-united-news-dean-henderson-16614663

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed on Friday that United have shelved plans for Henderson to link up with the Reds squad on the Asia leg of their pre-season tour, having initially said on Wednesday that Henderson would be linking up with the group in Singapore.

If we move on, that's not our problem. This move is trying everyone's patience now, and you've got to say when enough is enough. Dubravka from nufc.l Replacement for me.

First choice keeper isn't he? No chance.

Not cheap anyway.

Said he'd like to leave when Rafa went. And I'm sure he's transfer listed.

He'll be £10m I bet, they paid £5m and he's highly rated.

I'd like him but I can't see us spending that sort of money on a keeper, if we had considered it we would have bid for Henderson, got him or have been rejected and bought Randolph or someone in time for Portugal.

75,000 reasons a week to sign the new deal. It's not greedy to sign that, it's an absolute no brainer. His family are set up for life

Think they're after around 9.5, that's what a friend's dad was saying who's a Geordie fan. So I'd try 8 million. Providing we'd have enough to get mcburnie first.

Butland (If we have cash to burn 😎)

He does right, ‘ICON’ baseball caps don’t grow on trees yer know, and he’ll be needing thumb replacement surgery by the time he’s 30 if he keeps on social media-ring at this prodigious rate. He’ll be typing with bloody stumps if he keeps on going🔜🔛👍

Veneers and full body tans don't come for free

If we sign Hart, that'll be the worse than Brooks leaving on the gutted scale.

Absolutely shite.

We'd have to buy another keeper in January anyway if we had him, Burnley would've been relegated if Heaton hadn't stepped in at Christmas

There’s a big difference between PL and Championship, in so many different things, bigger crowds, bigger pressure, higher class shots/ headers etc
If it’s the same shots in league 2 using your logic he could go back to Shrewsbury in whatever league they play at for his developement.

Also no Championship club could afford to take Henderson on loan, unless Man U continue to pay the bulk of his wages.
Actually I don’t think the loaning club pay any wages, they just pay a loan fee direct to Man U.
If we’re struggling to pay the loan fee, then a Championship club has no chance.

The fact is Man Utd would prefer him to play regularly for a PL club next season.
I agree partly, but a shot on goal is a shot on goal, whether it's from Harry Kane or a ball boy, the same applies, keep it out of the onion bag!
WE need to be looking toward players like Forster, proven keepers, that are sort of lower prem standard, and making sure we've got the best defence we can.
There's going to be a lot of defending required next season, and that's where our losses will be decided.
I'm sure Henderson will do his up most to show he's a Man u number 1 threat, but he's still going to concede goals, especially if he fucks about, like he did at villa!
I'm not sure Moore is going to be anywhere near good enough in the prem, so I'm hoping that, even if we do get Henderson signed and sorted, January should be about a perminant replacement, and making sure were ready for next season, wherever we end up come may!!

Have I missed something? What are the decisions he’s failing to make sensibly?

my three possible goal keepers
Pope from Burnley [if fit]
Fraser Forster from southhamton
Jamal Blackman
