Well, I can understand that we will be favourites to go down with neutrals etc, but you have to understand that our Manager is super human. In his career he has never been relegated, never been sacked. And never finished lower than the previous season. I don't think for a minute that he intends to spoil his record this season.

Wilder does have a pretty incredible management record.
He’s been managing for 20 years and never been sacked or left by mutual consent (which is a nicer way of being sacked).
He’s started managing in local Sunday league and was a big success.
Then he moved up to non league and was a success.
Then went into league 2, massive success
Then league 1, massive success
Then Championship, massive success and now the Premier League.
It makes you wonder what he can achieve? Can he make us qualify for the Europa League. You sense anything is possible under Chris.
The underlying issue being the agent? At least you’re not still peddling that bollocks about there being no contact from any club...

So you in your position of commercial genius, representing the views of Championship Brentford who continue to lose money despite selling assets year on year and have to finance a new stadium would willingly pay £800k rather than negotiate.

Just to be clear, the position has not changed. There has been no contact from SUFC for Maupay. No bid. No fee agreed etc. etc. etc.
The agent is obviously angling to get a deal done. But it would appear that he wants to negotiate a additional fee from whatever buying club that will agree to pony-up. It is evident that any discussions so far have been between SUFC and the agent - as RC suggested.

So your suggesting that we and the agent agreed a fee, needed to agree one to get to that agents fee etc, and then the agent was just going to rock up at Brentford and tell them he has agreed to sell player for this amount oh and the player wants to go because it’s a prem league team ??
And Brentford just accept this ??

I personally really liked the car analogy.
I will go further....we need a new Bentley...but will settle for a Merc in the hope it will do for us until we can pick up a new Bentley. Not the AMG supercar ones mind, just your box standard middle of the range
We’ve rocked up at the dealer (agent), and even though we have a good deposit, happy with the interest rate for the finance and can afford the repayment, the dealer won’t actually sell us the car we want until we’ve raided the extras list, AND taken out the Gap insurance, alloy wheel cover, paint protection, and the service package! Even though we had no desire to get them or actually need them!
So instead, we’ve popped down to the Skoda dealer, walked in, bought their top of the range motor which has everything the Merc has but without the fancy badge, and driven off into the sunset the same day!
We will now be receiving calls from the Merc dealer after a couple of days asking if we’ve thought any more on the Merc!!
