Just watched a vid with Chris Morgan , Jags and Wilder ( Behind the scenes thing).

I bumped into Morgs in a Pets at Home. Was worried about going up to him for a chat as I bet sometimes they just want to shop without any hassle but said hello and got chatting. Seemed a top bloke and down to earth.

Any good or bad situations when bumping into other players?

Which reminds me, I met Willie Carlin in Majorca some years ago, I was sat outside a restaurant he owned (I didn't know it at the time) and was ordering food from a waitress, when a voice said, "bloody hell that's a Sheffield accent!", and it was him, got a picture of me and him shaking hands, he must have been 5ft nothing because I look like a giant next to him!

Been around a few years!! When I was about 10 we went to the Sidewalk cafe on Chapel Walk. Downstairs was TC,John Hope, Badge, Ted, Woody and David Ford. They were great with me. Then a few years later I bumped into Tony Kenworthy and Alex Sabella at Beauchief Tennis Club. Then Steve Charles played Tennis with me there a few years later. I served Keith Waugh in the Beauchief Hotel when I was working there and also Peter Rodrigues. Went to a party and Jeff Eckhardt was there. I was in the Bradway hotel one Saturday night and a very young Chris Wilder asked me how I thought the new lad had played on the day he made his debut. I was half way through answering when I realised who I was talking to. Also bumped into Beez in the Hyde Park in Dronfield.

Decades back, holiday in Newquay saw Steve Ovett wearing 'I AM NOT STEVE OVETT' t-shirt.

Sat next to SQuinny in my local watching Ireland vs Frogs, few years back. If frogs won England were 6 nations winners ...FFS. Damned if you do etc. Briefly chatted on the matter, he was sound. Seemed a good bloke, and a family man sat with his youngster. Pub manager came and shifted him on 'No under 16's in this area, you can sit elsewhere-ish.

1996, Paul Beesley quite often, in Jessops, our wives gave birth at a similar time. Nice bloke.

Tony McMahon and Dave Kitson on Division Street, one of them needed to pay £200 for a Burberry scarf, cant remember who.

Marcus Bent used to come to my old shop on Devonshire Street for 40 Marlboro lights everyday, Richard Wright used to come in the same shop for a few bits and bobs, all the girls that used to work for me fancied him.

Simon Tracey and Brian Gayle in the bookies at Bradway, also Jose Baxter, Che Adams and a few juniors in the same bookies. Baxter was a twat and the leader of the gang, very ignorant and show offy, good job Che is good at football, thick as pigshit that boy.

Morgs in the Port of Pollensa in Mallorca, had a good chat, he was a really nice guy. Very similar to Stuart McCall in the way that nothing was too much trouble and even though he was clealry doing something else, he made time to stop and talk. McCall had been like that with me and my Mother when I was a teenager and we met him in Sheffield, he was talking about all sorts but I distinctly remember a chat about his preferred caravan holiday destination of Filey.

Rob Kozluk pulled up next to me and my mates in his car at some red lights on the A50, we had Blades stuff in the back of our motor and he wound his window down to chat to us, it was a bit awkward for his poor wife who he had to shout across but what a top bloke.

Michael Tonge and Ash Sestanovich in Meadowhall, Ashley couldn't be bothered but Tongey was very friendly and even asked me where I got my mobile phone cover (I assume he liked it).

Craig Short in York, he was telling me how a young Jacob Mellis was the best youth prospect he had seen in a while. I'll just leave that there.

Two Petr Katchouro incidents

First time me and mates, whilst suitability refreshed, saw him in Champs dining alone, table for one. Went over and said come and join us for a drink. When I've finished he said. We retired to the bar side thinking yeah right, only to be surprised 15 mins later by the Minsk sharpshooter wading through the crowded bar looking for us. He was good value for the next hour.

Second time, saw him crossing
London Rd. Petr I shouted, which stopped Kit Kat bang in the middle of the road. A 75 bus bound for Woodseats narrowly missed him.....

A few years ago met Tony Agana in the Blue Moon Cafe. Had a good chat with him. Lovely bloke. At a memorabilia event met Dennis Mortimer who played some games for us on loan from Aston Villa. Pulled his bottom lip down to show me a scar that he received playing for us against Barnsley when ex pig Rodger Wylde pole axed him (Wylde was sent off). Said that he had contacted the PFA for advice about suing him but they advised against it. Told him he should have gone ahead with it as he could have called 10,000+ witnesses to back him up.

The Great Lord CW...........having a beer outside a pub in S10 about 4 weeks before he was announced as our gaffer. Was there with a Blades pal and we congratulated him on his promotion with Northampton and asked him if he would consider managing the Blades. He said in no uncertain terms that he wouldn't, even if it was the last club on earth due to previous dealings with the interview process and the board........lying bastard, but I love him dearly!

Bumped into Dean Hammond once, my fault, never saw the twat.

Bumped into Warnock on Eccy road a couple of weeks after 2007 relegation, is actually a nice bloke despite the persona.

Bumped into Darius Henderson in Walkabout Donny c.2008 - he denied he was Darius Henderson, I assume to get away from me but it was obviously him. My mates were pissing themselves that I’d been rejected!

Bumped into Billy when he was at Leeds (he might have been out with his mate Cooper but I didn’t pay any attention to that Leeds clown)- he was out in Bawtry. Obviously I asked him if he fancied moving back to Blades but think he said something about having had two spells there it just maybe wasn’t to be - glad he came back for a third spell!!

Bumped into Tongey and Squinny in Broomhill on their way into the barber shop - both were happy to stop and chat about Blades.

Not a blade related one but regularly bump into Leo Fortune-West in Donny (and plenty of other teams) - a very softly spoken and polite man considering he was a bruising centre forward.

Once bumped into Morgs in Cole brothers, we were both pushing buggies with bleating kids in, while reluctantly shopping with wives. He looked scarily pissed off. My wife asked who the thug was that I said hello to. Saw him again while he was walking his dogs up at Thurgoland and he was much happier. Have often bumped into, played golf with , drunk with ,on both sides of the bar,and even worked with ex players and I am often very impressed with how normal they are and proud of being a Blade. Or maybe it’s just me with my rose coloured specs on.ok you do meet the odd tosspot, but you meet them from all walks of life. Some teams and players you feel more connected with, like the promotion team of 71. They will always be heroes to me , but whenever I’ve met them they’ve been fantastic and approachable.

Geoff Salmons in Fiesta Nite Club,very early 70's

Adrian Heath,Peter Reid,Graeme Sharp and most of the 1984 Everton team in Palma Nova in a pub after midnite,cant remember if Howard Kendal was around.

Weirdly, that Everton squad were all on our plane going to Rhodes that summer. You never saw them at night, but you saw them jogging in the mornings. We were on an 18-30s and I think they were in the poshest hotel In Rhodes town. I remember the perms and moustaches. Or was that the Greek lasses.

Bumped into many of the local chaps over the years, my most memorable was going to a wedding in 1980 near Stoke where the Notts Forest team were invited (v posh, my great uncle was head of power in Sth Africa). Brian Clough, Viv Anderson etc. were in attendance. They had just won the European Cup and were most magnanimous - also drinking bucket loads of free champagne, Was the poshest do I've ever been to.

I worked at the aldi next to the proact and sold Dean Saunders a bottle of champagne before his last match at Chesterfield. I saw Morgan and Wilson walking to costa regularly and Wilson came in to buy loads of booze at Christmas.Ritchie Humphreys was a near daily customer.

I saw Ted Hemesley on a flight from East Midlands to Malaga last year. I managed to speak to him while waiting for our luggage at the airport. Thoroughly lovely bloke, very happy to talk about the Blades & spoke in glowing terms about the job that Chris is doing, & some of his former team mates . I also chatted to him about golf & it was as if I had known him for years. I've see him from time to time on matchdays since & he always acknowledges me. Top , top man!
