It feels good to see and hear Jags in those videos. Feel better after hearing him and Wilder speak.

It’s a good common sense shrewd deal all round.
Players like Sharp and Jags are NOT just about how they perform on the pitch.
With those 2 it’s about their influence 7 days a week on all the other players.
They are both down to earth genuine Blades that will have a massive effect on maintaining our fantastic team spirit.
It’s that genuine close knit happy team spirit that might just bring the best out of Ravel Morrison.

It took a long time from when I started supporting us to having many memories of success. Mitch Ward against Blackburn and Holdsworth’s last minute equaliser v Coventry being the standouts. Jagielka’s wonder strike against Leeds was the only time my heart nearly jumped out of my chest. It was then followed up with promotion and an incredible first season in the PL. Fast forward 12 years and he’s been capped 40 times by England and has made himself a legend at Everton. What a player, leader and legend of Sheff Utd. Delighted he’s back. Hope he can contribute to the cause.

Would rather have Crainie.
Jag on.
This post was more a reaction to us not keeping Crainie. Hope Jags does great for us now we have him.
Don't think age will be an issue ,pace was never Jags biggest strongpoint ,his reading of the game was ,that's why he should always be centre back not full back or midfield.
Wish we had kept Crainie too though.

I dare say this is probably the first time

It isn’t.

Lets hope Jags doesn't help us go down like he did last time.

If we hadn’t have had Jagielka last time round we’d have been relegated long before the last game of the season.

Pinchy will hate me for using his catchphrase in this context, but sometimes I dispair, I really do.

I'm over the moon with this! I see him as kind of a highly upgraded version of Jake Wright. Also, pace is NOT going to be an issue for us at the back, I highly doubt teams are going to be hitting us on the break.

Also, pace isn't everything, especially as a defender - If it was, people like Mertesacker would never have had a career, nevermind being a world cup winner.

How often did you see Jags beaten for pace when he played for us, I'd have said it was one of his best attributes if he has lost that pace is what worries me.

I still don’t know why Cranie went. I can see Jags making the odd token appearance nothing more

Great signing as I mentioned earlier but WOW ! - how many club captains have we signed over the last 3 years ???

He does like a leader does our Chris 👍

Hopefully he's on a decent but fair wage for a back up to Egan as he's already a millionaire..

He clearly kicked every ball last season with us in the way a fan does and the use of 'we' in that interview is very endearing I must say..

Welcome home..

Clearly loves the club, so GLTTL as we say here, get behind him..

God I hope your right, because that's exactly what every team will try to do as our defenders overlap and go forward. we lose the ball in the final third in this division we're fucked.

Have you seen like likes of spurs, city or especially Liverpool play recently - their breaking at speed is frightening! 😳

That said he’s been signed for his experience and leadership and not his recovery speed. Could be a valuable addition

Agreed. We have a team of leaders and players who we’ve signed after being player of the season at their previous club, like Freeman was, a team is the sum of its parts and I really like the way our team has been moulded with that method over the last few years. It could be key to us staying up. Which I think we will because there are more signings to come of a similar ilk.

Moan if we’d signed Cranie as cheap cover but moan that we didn’t instead of Ex-England Captain with bag loads of Prem experience that we’re lacking and unable to afford who knows SUFC inside out. Ooookkkkaaaay.
Never moan about cranie lol who the hell would was great when used . experience counts for little we have thrived without it this reeks of sentimentality . England captain we can build on that success then hahahah . I'm not against him he was great but for us many years ago.

Whilst I agree that smart signings from the Championship are the realistic option for us, when we’re in the thick of it against the top
teams, having someone on the pitch who’s been there many times will be invaluable. Add to that his ability to share his experience on the training ground and I think this is a great move by Wilder. Let’s be honest who else can add this to the squad - from the manager down?
He was a great player for us, for goodness sake let’s welcome him back and appreciate the fact that he could have gone to umpteen other clubs but chose us.

I bet he bloody moisturises, only looks about 4 weeks older than when he left. Some genes that lad.
😂 If Liverpool have Nivea as a sponsor what are going to get? - something appropriate like Wright’s coal tar soap I hope

Wilder looks very happy to have signed the Sheffield United player.

Is it just me or is Wilder looking a bit more Premier League these days? Tanned, designer stubble, had his teeth whitened, brown bit of hair looking a bit more brown than usual.

He s obviously been brought in as backup. No brainer. Premiership experience. ExEngland centre back. Imagine we are at the lane, twenty minutes remaining, we are one nil up against a top six side. We need to close the game down. Who would you rather we bring on, Martin Crainie (no disrespect) or Jags?

Really bored of reading the word ‘experience’. Every other post.

Counts for fuck all if pacy strikers and wingers are tearing past cos your legs have gone.

Skill stamina and pace are what we need from him. Hope he still has it.

Hang on, somebody quoted Calvert - Lewin as saying Jagielka was still one of the quickest in the Everton squad.
Do you or anyone know how quick/slow he actually is?? or is it just normal expectation that at 36 he's slow. Naturally he will have lost some of his speed, that doesn't make him slow. He's a good athlete, looks after himself. Above all he's the right fit for our manager

What does our ex faint hearted reserve winger for Sheffield Bankers at a low period of their existence and resident football “expert” think of this? Pinchy?

I really am underwhelmed by this signing is this Chris Wilder's Dean Hammond moment? Hopefully he will never get a start next season but one thing is for certain the twat owes us not only for that stupid hand ball but because there was never any regret, remorse or apology from him. He got his move to Everton which he always wanted and never gave a fuck about Sheffield United and their fans. I dare say this is probably the first time he has been back and taken an interest in what happened to his old club.
I really don't know why anyone is getting excited by his return if we were still in the Championship then yes but if he ain't good enough for Everton why is he good enough here? Of course the Bladey blade fans say he can be a coach forgetting he has fuck all qualifications to be a coach I have mates more qualified than he is. Mind you we said the same about Morgs, that turned out well didn't it. Then we say McCall, Cowans, Speed, McGrath etc all played on past 35 are we really comparing Jagielka to such players who were truly world class ? Do me a favour. If this is the best we can do it says a fair bit about what Wilder has to spend on players. Lets hope Jags doesn't help us go down like he did last time.

He fingered your lass didn't he
