I believe the reason for no announced signings yet has nothing to do with "inaction" on the management team's part.
But is more tied into the fact that;
1) most players contracts are written to end 30th June each year, thus players who are on the target list need to come out of contract first at their existing clubs and thus the fees may be less than if bought while still in contract at a club
2) some of those players in 1) will have been renegotiating extensions or not as the case may be thus, some more targets might come available at 1 July
3) our own out of contract/non renewed players will leave and thus free up more wage budget for new acquisitions
3) the financial fair play of the championship comes to an end that day as we become recognized under Premier League rules. If we had gone signing Prem players on bigger salaries PRIOR to this it could have affected our FFP status as still a championship club when reviewed and audited. The last thing that we want is retrospective fines or penalties

therefore i suspect this week and with players returning to training we will start to see some incomings as he will want to get them bedded into our expansive style quickly

Interesting theory but it would hold more water if other teams weren't singing players.

Agreed we just need to be careful that we don't have a squad of 16 in two weeks time as then you lose your bargaining position as teams will know we are desperate. I'm still not worried we signed three players on one day last year.

Believe that his is accurate but still doesn’t mean we’ll sign these players
And if we don’t sign those players then no doubt some will insult Richard Cadette calling him a fraud.

I remember Warnock being interviewed saying he could tell some unbelievable stories about transfers.
Where the agent and the player have 100% promised the deal. Then on the day they are supposed to sign their contract with us, he’s heard in the media that they’ve gone elsewhere but he used to put it down to fate because sometimes Warnocks 2nd or 3rd choice have ended being better than his 1st choice.

My point is that Richard Cadette could be Chris Wilder himself and even CW won’t know 100% who we are signing.
He’ll just know the ones where the player and agent are keen, so look very promising.

I'm a big fan of the Football Manager series of games and have been for a long, long time. Personally I hate the experts who think they know how football management works because they have spent far too many hours playing it, and I don't use it to preach or pretend I'm an expert in something I'm not, but it does give one or two insights in to the world of football management.

During the close season I never really buy much, until I see what is available after the contracts have ran out at the end of June, I can see what the lie of the land is in the transfer market, and this for the last few years has seemed like this is exactly what happens in real life as well.

Re the first point three, we already know who’s leaving and the wage budget will be set.
