I’m watching SSN and we are constantly displayed as ‘Sheffield Utd’. I don’t like it and am about to write a strongly worded letter as it just doesn’t look right to me. My preference would be

1. SHEFF UTD
2. Sheffield United
3. SUFC

Then owt from Blades, Dem Blades, Blayards, Sheff U

But ‘Sheffield Utd’ would be last. Just realised I’m still typing and about to press ‘post’.

On Sky we get abbreviated to "SUT" and Wednesday get abbreviated to "SWE". It's the Sooty and Sweep show ladies and gentlemen!

I think we’re gonna be called the Blades a tad more than usual this season. The Premier league pundits simply couldn’t utter the word “United” when referring to us. It would be like blasphemy to their beloved Manchester Utd. But in all fairness we have been “down with the dead men” for quite a while. The thing that will really boil my piss, is if they continue to refer to them as “United” on the 24th November.

One of my earliest memories from my childhood was when I was writing 'Sheffield Utd' in my book at Burncross School (Rip). My teacher, Mrs Fisher, told me to write it properly. I didn't know how to spell it as I'd never seen it properly. But that was the first time I ever wrote 'Sheffield United' properly. Ever. I will have been in year 2 at best at the time.

Living in Ireland I get used to United meaning Man Utd.

Love their face when I ask who they support & they reply “United” & I follow up with oh so you’re a Blade too.
