So are we taking promotion to the premier League too lightly?

According to this we are....

To date we've not had a great start to our end of season preparations given the circus McCabe and HRH are putting the club through. I just hope it's sorted out sooner rather than later and doesn't affect our ability to buy our Championship targets. On the topic of Championship targets, I think this is where we'll either surprise a few teams and hold our own against those in and around us or we'll get a good beating week-in week-out and go back down.

If we are being honest we were in the exact same spot last year. Everyone said we had to spend big to get promoted. We didn’t.

So what if we go down! I cannot wait to see this team in the premiership. Spend within its means and still surprise everyone.

and they are?? what an utter crock of shit. we haven't even started yet and neither has anyone else. Has anyone signed 'one' player yet?
we're not overrawed by it that is for certain. playing the plucky northern plebs card like Burnley. ooh likkle sheffield united. fuck that.

He appears to be a Leeds fan judging by his other posts.

Jealous

I think as an outsider looking in, he’s being 100% honest.

If you were to write down of the names of the teams in the premier league excluding the three promoted sides in descending order based on quality, experience and financial power and compare the bottom couple of teams with us. Can that gap be overcome simply by CWAK, momentum & team spirit alone? Or will it need that and player signings? If so, how many and how much?

The euphoria of promotion is starting to fade, and the realisation that we are going to sea in a sieve is beginning to set in.

The last month has been about celebrating promotion, but our heads should have cleared and we are faced with a huge month of wheeling and dealing. If we are still in the same situation in a month’s time, I’ll be worried.

Thought most of our staff were enjoying well deserved holidays.
We only officially became a prem club after the championship season finished after the villa derby play off completed the championship season .

The work starts in mid June not before May bank holiday

I'm sure Wilder will have been working hard on recruitment since we have secured promotion, but it's obviously going to take a bit of time. The play-off final was only a few days ago, it's far too early to judge anything.

Only just spotted the bookmark tool, which I'm sure was probably there before, but this is certainly marked for return.

No we aren’t, but unfortunately we are having to wait until the two dicks running the show get their shit sorted before we can actually start building a squad.

Wilder & Knill know what type of player & who they want, within the same ethos of the last couple of seasons

We may not reach the top half this season, but we will shook a lot of pundits

UTB

The EFL Championship season is less than two days finished and some random ''journalist'' on a two bit football site parades an article of SUFC transfer targets.
The SUFC being the click-bait, that site will have had more hits today than it's ever done.

There's always next season Mr Charles Jones, always next season.

Just wait until the fixtures are released.
It'll be another tidal wave of excitement as it'll be in glorious technicolor that Sheffield United FC are a PL club, let's hope for more than a single season.

Whilst the move away from traditional print journalism has been liberating, it also means that bozos like this can chuck out poorly research guff under the guise of being credible.

I would like to think that after a good night's sleep and with some honest reflection he could re - read this and realise what drivel it is. But he clearly hasn't got a clue, so I doubt he would see anything wrong.

Oh i do wish we had not been promoted and had all that fun , whats the point of the fun we are having ? .

Regardless of the original posters credentials there is a serious point to this.
I criticised CW and players last promotion re drunken antics after L1 promotion and was prepared to accept consolidation for quite a few seasons. However, he pulled off the unbelievable and got us into arguably the biggest hardest league in the world and I’m sure he meant it.
Honestly, at my age I never expected to see the Blades play in the PL ever again 3 years ago. But here we are and I’m so pumped I just hope I make it to the start of next season. Please please please owners, don’t feck it up again.

That's my main worry, CW can work wonders as we've seen but eventually that magic will run out and serious support from those above him will be required. With these two clowns at each others throats, the team could take a backseat, intentionally or not.

Sorry bud but the same old same old negatives go round every pre season.... have you noticed that
the last three seasons have confounded the pessimists?
I can tell you that the euphoria is still bubbling away with every blade I know.
We will make singnings don’t worry.
The players we already have will up their game, again.
We will learn quickly,Wilder is the best manager in England.

I was about to post about this guy rather than the article.

I've never heard of football fancast until we got promoted and this Charles Jones fella suddenly pops up writing poorly informed articles about us and the Championship. Seems to be another one of these Premier League blinkered journalists with no clue about us.

I love that he's written with certainty that the list of newsnow rumoured players is our "official targets list"...

He's 100% a bitter Leeds fans, all his other articles are Leeds related. Your team choked and fell apart again get over it ffs.
