Transfer Budget

We’ll see how we do with what we’ve got but they’ll be money available in January if needed.

We won't spend more than 20 million in the summer. If that is our budget as wilder suggested it would be, there won't be any players being brought in for 10 million!

I’m not convinced. If it’s £20m we may as well just wave a white flag.

Norwich have a transfer budget of £20 million because they've already gone all in over the last few seasons and now have to repay debts according to some Norwich fans.
They're hoping they will be good enough by adding a couple of additional players to survive and then kick on from there.
We have an ageing squad in key positions, and I think we'll need much more than £20 million

Luckily you usually only put up 25% of the transfer fee to start with.

Do we though? I think squad age is overstated a touch. The defence isn't aging, but does need a couple more players (arguably only one of them needs to be a starter).

Wing-backs are both a good age, but we need competition.

The midfield two are a great age. Again, only competition needed.

The forward line (inc. AM) is the definitely the exception. We need at least 3 new players there.

I think we desperately need four players who could be viewed as starters. Then I'd be happy to see us split the remaining budget between players who have done well in the Championship/League One, but are younger and have points to prove. I'm thinking the likes of Will Vaulks; won't break the bank at all, but has good resale.

If you tell everyone how much you have got to spend, in my experience the costs go up to that amount.

But is he happy LE, all the shit coming out of the court case regarding Bettis and co, it must leave a sour taste.
CW's goal over the last few seasons has always been to achieve positive results rather than just to survive. But our objective was to survive when we first got promoted to the Championship and look how that panned out.

The man has already performed miracles and given the right funding, control and patience will keep us all happy... apart from the keyboard worriers who will never change.

The next season will be an interesting one.

Glucose club, the new HITC/Football league world bollocks mouthpiece.

There's a guy on VIP Blades FB group I'm sure works for them, posts a new fekkin story everyday.

They put it on blade2blade as well, which is where i see the garbage..

I know it’s clickbait, but they’ll get one right, but only because they’ll have linked us with every player in the division by the time it kicks off..

and all they do is get the news from forum gossip and other media outlets.

I responded to a glucose club post on the blades page with 'please ban this clown'.

Was amazed the amount of abuse i got for requesting a 'fellow blade' should be banned.

20mill isn’t enough “glucose club” (who?) are saying we’re in for.

Forestieri 14 million.
Ambossalonga 15 million.
Mcburnie 12 million.
Dwight Gayle 15 million.
And Macauley Bonne. (Undisclosed)

And that’s just who we’ve been “swooping” for this last week..

If it’s 20 million, which also makes provision for increased wages then that’s a disgrace, but at this point in time it’s totally believable with the stuff that’s been coming out in court..

Another miracle please Chris !

All those are good to sign when we are relegated back. We already have the 2nd best team in the championship, we need proven PL players to survive.
£15m will get us 5 £60k a week signings.

The core of my post is a joke of course, it’s a dig at a website who clearly don’t have a clue who we’re looking at, however if we were to pay 6 new players £60k a week (which is reasonable when you consider de gea has just turned £350k a week down) it would split the team into 2 camps, and at least three of the current first team would want the same wages..

There would be requests to leave going in from O’Connell Norwood and Egan straight away if they weren’t matched on wages..

Yes, just another thing that our fans don't seem to understand in spite of Bournemouth doing it to us when they bought Brooks.
£100 million in transfer fees would probably mean an outlay on fees of £25 - £50 million in our first season

There's no saying who's too old really when you look at Glen Murray

Some would say the catalyst for our promotion was the difference Mcgoldrick made
If we spend that much again we will be all right

That's why the 1st £60k a week signing should be CW.

Nobody hopes that is wrong more than me, but do you honestly believe we will spend over 20 million on players? Transfer fees, not wages or improved contracts.

We are in
The

Premier league

We get 200 million even Kevin McCabe would spend 20 million I reckon

Let me guess.....

The money tree pays the balance and the wages too?

No the TV deal does actually that gives us 200 million pounds

What dont people get about how much money you get for getting promoted

No, next years money, and the year after and the year after that as well. That is if you're serious about being a Premier League club.
Just for once I think the club is, all we have to do now is drag our fans into the 21st century and we'll be ok.

Not one person has made a single "ridiculous" suggestion about signings, but still the naysayers cant help themselves when it comes to anything over £500,000

It's as simple as this, buy the players we need, pay them the going rate that will stop Championship clubs outfucking bidding us, or end up going down, one season or another we will go down if we don't spend big to improve the team.
And if we go down, don't be surprised to see nobody wishing a return ever again......I mean what'd be the point ? We'd obviously not belong there.

Why don't you quote these naysayers ?
Worse thing about getting promoted to the big time is having to put up with trolls like you who will be dining off us not spending hundreds of millions for a decade wether we stay up or not

We're sheff united we don't spend money regardless of how much you get for promotion!
People who think we're going to be spending 40-50 million are dreaming!

Listening to talksport last night I heard Simon Jordan talking despite him being a tanned nob he occasionally provides useful information and he stated that the average premier league player gets paid 82k per week I appreciate it's an average but that's 4 times what we are currently paying approx
