Gareth Bale

Would be well happy with that although with Naysmith a week or so away, Taylor fit again and Del Geary more than capable of filling in at left back I can't see it somehow.

Bale can play left wing too.
Technically good on the balll - would be a good signing IMO.

...was he with Theo, Robbie?

Not on this occasion ;)

I agree Robbie it would be an excellent signing but we aren't exactly short of wingers either..................

Would be an amazing signing. Which is why I am sceptical, where has the rumour come from?

Rate Gareth Bale very highly, but not really a position we need to fill in on. Unless we're thinking about moving Naysmith into a central position.

Come to think about it, we are owed a loan player or two from Spurs...

Injury-prone? Not that I believe everything in Wikipedia...

;)

"Bale was substituted after sustaining an injury resulting from a tackle from Fabrice Muamba in the league fixture against Birmingham City on 2 December 2007. A scan revealed that Bale had suffered ligament damage to his right ankle, consigning Bale to an extended period on the sidelines. Spurs' sporting director Damien Comolli announced in February 2008 that Bale would miss the rest of the season through injury.[17] He signed a new four-year deal with the club in August 2008.[18]

Bale played a record 24 Premier League games for Spurs without being on the winning side.[19][20] His first involvement in a Premier League victory came against Burnley on 26 September 2009 - more than two years after signing for Spurs - when he came on as an 85th minute substitute.[21]

In June 2009, Bale had to undergo surgery for a knee injury, ruling him out for up to eight weeks. He missed the preseason matches and it was projected that he would miss the first few weeks of the 2009-10 season.[22] On 29 September, he made his comeback as a substitute in the Spurs' 5-0 thrashing of Burnley."

A 'source' who works at the Lane. Sadly can't say more than that. He's generally reliable though to be honest.

Good enough for me.

I'd have Bale as left back or left wing, even better if we have a deal lined up for him longer term.

These are the sorts of guys we need to be getting from Spurs, the ones they overpaid for and aren't using.

Hopefully we can get Naughton back in the summer too. :)

Yep, that deal is sealed I believe.

If we do get Bale, we will have a corner taker at last :)

And a real threat from direct freekicks, which we definitely miss.

I'd have Bale over Shorey anyway certainly if we are looking long term.

Is it true that Spurs have never won a single game in which he's started?

It was true..... until he came on at 4-0 against Burnley and they won 5-0.

Couldn't really lose that though haha
