I've barely watched any premier league football this season, but I seem to remember Cairney playing as a number 10 the season they were promoted to the prem? Have I imagined this?
Im not saying you’re wrong but when people sign a new contract it can sometimes mean they’re moving on and they’re making sure the club gets top dollar for their asset.Just signed a new contract. I’m all for people creating topics about players they want to sign. But 30 seconds worth of research would show you he’s just signed a new deal.
Shows how some people just want to create a topic and throw a name in there without looking at anything.

My guess is that Tom Cairney won’t be a Fulham player by the start of the season.

Again, I’m not saying you’re wrong but if a bigger club comes knocking........Fulham are owned by a billionaire, they don’t tend to double bluff. He will start the season at Fulham.

You could well be right but my main point is and I’ll go back to it is that a contract in the grand scheme of things means diddly squat. You just get a bigger fee if the said player is to move on.Newcastle had a £20m bid turned down in 2017. Cairney has just signed a new 5-year deal with Fulham which included the club waiving the 'your wages drop if we get relegated' clause, so he remains on £60k a week. If he stays put, that's £15m over 5 years by which time he'll be 33. I know what I'd do...
Earlier this season, Shearer showed a clip on MotD where Fulham were at home to Citeh. Cairney was stood next to de Bruyne and, in an instant, de Bruyne was 20 yards away while Cairney was stood in his original spot. That's what we're up against now...
Well you’re in for a shock next seasonI've barely watched any premier league football this season
Aye, £20m+ for Cairney would fit in completely with everything else we have to do...
I've read our budget for next season is £600m so we would have plenty of money left to sign the likes of Grealish, Mitrovic, Seri, Balotelli and Bale.
£600m ey? Tight bastard that McCabe.

Yes, which immediately rules us out.You could well be right but my main point is and I’ll go back to it is that a contract in the grand scheme of things means diddly squat. You just get a bigger fee if the said player is to move on.

Montgomery would've stayed with him.Cairney was stood next to de Bruyne and, in an instant, de Bruyne was 20 yards away while Cairney was stood in his original spot.
