for our greatest ever manager and captain

Resource wise this is a much bigger achievement.Wilder hasn't yet achieved what Bassett did - two promotions then three years in the top flight. We all love Wilder but I don't think he can be called our greatest-ever manager..yet.
Championship clubs did not spend millions on players when Basett won it Although he did do it quicker , its neck and neck at the moment in my opinion as to who was best manager , after three years in charge and it matters zilch .
It was four, one in Div One and three in PL.Wilder hasn't yet achieved what Bassett did - two promotions then three years in the top flight. We all love Wilder but I don't think he can be called our greatest-ever manager..yet.

Fingers crossed eh?! Sometimes, people forget the incredible job Bassett did keeping us up there as long as he did, sure it wasn't like the PL is now but our budget and squad were way off.Yes, you're right.
Different era of course, and different roles, but both Bassett and Wilder have a way to go before they're as successful as Nicholson

If we carry on like this there'll be no room for actual cars in the car park.
Can we have a 'Wilder is better than Warnock' thread with that 'confirmed' label on it?
To be fair that looks about as much like Wilder or Billy as it does Ronaldo
Nicholson was never a manager!Yes, you're right.

Greatest ever manager???
Are we talking since 1980’s because by the looks of the comments on here that’s all most think our history stretches as far back as.
It doesn’t, we’ve won FA Cups and the League Championship.. We spent an unbroken spell of 34? years in the top flight.
Chris Wilder has a long way to go before he can be called our greatest ever and be deserving of a statue.
I do love him though.
