If Tan wants to keep Warnock,Warnock will want to keep Madine.

Tan has said he wants him to stay, and he’s contracted another year. The question seems to be now down to whether Warnock himself wants to stay. He may be willing to part with Madine anyway if he wants to freshen up the squad.

Doesn't matter how we play, I expect we can do better than Madine now we have a few quid. Madine, Washington and Hogan were what we could afford last season, we're in a different league now, with a 'decent budget' to try and establish us there.
come on then, enlighten us.

We're where we are by playing a variety of ways on different occasions.

The way we played against WBA and Leeds away is completely different to how we played against Ipswich or Reading at home.

Am I watching a different game to other people?

You're watching the same game to me. What I saw was a light touch for a big man and a good sense of awareness. Will however be unusual in the Premier League and may have to accept being Plan B.

Glad it's not just me Snowman.

I think sometimes people take one look at him and formulate their opinions on things other than his actual ability, unfortunately.

Madine is a Cardiff player - and it may all change if NW decides to or is told to go from Cardiff.

He cost them £6m from Bolton in the JTW and apparently £35K per week. Cardiff are not going to give him away, which is sort of what we would want.

Surely at those figures, even with our SKY money next season, they are bonkers figures for a plan B player.

Call Madine a plan B ............... we need one, I think it will be down the Cardiff and how much

Madine himself looks have enjoyed it, Tufty has seen him up close, I think he will be here

Maybe last minute tho' if no one goes in for him

Totally agree. In the PL we'll need 25 players who can step up when required.

Those saying we'll can Coutts, Madine, Lundstram etc must be assuming Tufty is bringing in 10+ players of a better standard!!

Going to be a long Summer of people thinking real-life is the same as Championship Manager!!

Will over lapping centre halves be an option on Champ Manager?

That's a separate point altogether though isn't it ?

I'm not Paul Mitchell and he always seems to blind side us (my opinion is on the Premier League Striker thread).
Niceguyeddie I'm not sure what you are asking; you said in a round about way we need an outlet I'm saying we can afford better 'outlet' players than Madine beyond that I don't know what you are asking.

Considering the reaction to both our posts, think again mate

Really, well you think what you want, personally if we are thinking of investing in Gary Madine to help keep us in the Premier League then that money could be better spent elsewhere. He showed very little, (by his own admission) in the Championship let alone the Prem and let's not forget he was bombed out by Cardiff, a team that play to his strengths.

I think we will be as underwhelmed with the players Wilder signs like we have been previously. We'll Google the player and read the forum of the club he's left and wonder why we've signed him.
Then after a few games we'll wonder (as usual) how Wilder finds such brilliant talent.
spot on
all this speculation is pointless with Wilder you never know who he is chasing until they’re in the bag

I'd guess you're in a minority then...
The lad himself has readily admitted to not having been very good in a Blades shirt.

Some folks just can’t, or won’t see it.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s better than what we have seen.

But don’t kid yourself that in his time here he has been anything other than slow, ponderous, and completely out of sync with most of his team mates.

If that’s what you crave for a PL campaign, I give up !!

Please read my posts carefully: I never said that we should "invest in" Madine - homestly, i think we can do better.

I was merely challenging your opinion that he's not good in the air and poor on the deck - I think he's fabulous in the air, which is proven statistically and something we all expected when he joined. I also think his touch is surprisingly good for a big man and I'm not the 1st person to say that.

Sure you didn’t !!!

There are others ;).

I'd be happy if we sign Madine. He offers a lot in the air and on the deck. Maybe he hasn't done as well as he'd have liked. Maybe he was understandably trying too hard.
It's pretty obvious that a lot of his detractors are agenda driven.
Or they haven't watched him.
One last point. It's not his fault if his teammates go long when he's playing.
That can only be for two reasons.
Wilders instructions or laziness on the part of those lumping it.
Hendo was the worst at that!!!

We've moved up a notch, as much as its painful to say goodbye we cannot be over sentimental with players who've done a 'decent job'.

Gutting for couttsy, as he was instrumental in promotion from league 1,and still half if last season. The break has totally done him in ,and is always hard to come back fully. I truly hope he finds a club in the champ where he gets regular games, hes a baller and am gutted he didn't make the comeback we hoped for.
But we move on,football is cruel, and I reiterate we cannot look back, only forward.
Thanks couttsy, fucking legend of a baller.

Ye Gods man....if we both think we can do better then we are on the same page...
