It was disrespectful to the competition. One of the oldest and best cup competitions in the world. I wouldn’t care if we won the Champions League, Premier League or whatever, the point still stands. I never wanted my own club to be one of those that puts the FA Cup on the backburner.

The drive home after that was just horrendous, I couldn't quite believe what I had just seen and tried to work out how the hell it even happened. My phone was constantly lighting up with folk taking the piss as well, horrendous day.

Contrast that to the scenes after the Ipswich game where I couldn't quite believe what we had just achieved and got myself absolutely Stearman'd (well, not quite his level) in the hotel bar after.

How long ago does this feel now?!

I remember the outrage from some on here. The more level-headed amongst us knew that the result was a blessing in disguise. We didn’t need or want the distractions of a cup run. The fact we’ve been promoted and I haven’t seen this day mentioned on here in a while proves that.

Although Wilder came out in the press with some strong criticism for the players who played that day, I genuinely believe he wasn’t as bothered behind the scenes.

So, who agrees that the “worst result in our entire history” was one of the better ones of the season?

If you believe Wilder wasn't that bothered, fair enough.

I think (and he appeared to be) fuming, just as I was, that a Sheffield United team had got outrun, outworked, out-thought and outplayed by a bunch of semi-pro's. Punters turned up and payed to watch that. The outrage on here (for once) matched that of our manger, and I stand by it.

I don’t. But there’s not much to argue about now we’re premier league (until we make some signings, then we can have a proper dust up) so there’s everything to be gained by dragging up old ones. So sod off, you’re wrong.
