We need to learn this song before the start of the new season so get practicing everyone. It’s an absolute belter and Egan is a legend for thinking of it!!.⚔️⚔️

I don’t get the adulation for employees getting hammered in public. They are on duty at a club end of year award and to turn up for it incapable through drink would in any other walk of life lead to disciplinary action. Firstly winning the championship, as opposed to being runners up, has a healthy financial premium. Being in that state , when not regular drinkers, is not going to help that. Secondly you have a Saudi prince part owner to whom that sort of behavior is massively disrespectful. Thirdly the club wants to be viewed as inclusive to all. To default to getting shitfaced to celebrate success flies in the face of inclusivity for women , kids, various religions and anyone who can enjoy something without getting hammered. It gives succour to, and reinforces, the sort of macho boorish behavior seen around grounds on a match day and is a really poor example. Now before anyone tells me to jog on i’ve Got no problem with them getting drunk but it should have been at the end of the season and out of the public eye. Rather than a PR success I see it as something they might regret in the cold light of day
Had a fair bit of stick for this didn’t you fella ?

Could I suggest that you analyse your own words “I don’t get ......”.

The answer for you is in there somewhere ;).

Or to put it another way, try to understand the pure joy on the faces, reactions and interactions of the players / management and club supporters to fully appreciate how “special” this particular moment in time this turned out to be :).

The alcohol is the catalyst, nothing more. It was going off in any event !!!

And rightfully so.

What a truly dreadful & mean spirited post. I've lurked on here for years enjoying the banter (& the many ups & downs - mainly downs actually) but this is the 1st time I’ve ever felt compelled to respond directly to a post. If it was your intention to bait people, well it has certainly worked with me.

What we've all witnessed over the last few days in Sheffield (well, at least half of it) is an outpouring of joy & celebration in response to an incredible achievement by a young group of sportsmen led by an inspirational boss. Together, they have well & truly broken the mould & finally given Blades fans a club to be proud of. Are you really begrudging us of that? Every time I read the posts, tweets & watch the vids (e.g. Egan's song), I can barely wipe the grin off my face (& trust me - I’m a miserable git most of the time). In addition, why should they have to specifically respect a Saudi owner? The last time I looked, Sheffield was not subject to Arabic laws as regards alcohol consumption & Bramall Lane is not a dry ground. How sanctimonious of you. How did you celebrate Norwich's promotion? With a nice herbal tea perhaps?

Not satisfied with that, in a later post, you then have the temerity to go on to make spiteful & classist comments about the demographic on here:

“Next you’ll be telling me the entertainment was Bernard Manning and Jim Davidson followed by strippers, scampi in a basket served with blue nun was enjoyed by all and everyone drove home. Oh and btw best remove the asbestos from the ceiling apparently it might pose a health risk.”

I call you out for the hypocrite that you are, as one the one hand you blather on about inclusivity, but then throw in a nasty curved ball about social class. All while hiding behind a half baked neo liberal left identitarian lexicon.

Do you know what? fu cking do one mate. Go & celebrate your own promotion with Delia & your 6 fingered sisters in your own way. I'd wish you luck for the forthcoming season..... but i don't think I will.

It's just possible that you are not a boring , joyless , self righteous , pompous prick but if that's the case , why did you think it a good idea to come on another club's forum and give every impression of being all of those things .?

Whilst I don't know you personally I have a strong impression that you are of a type with which I am all too familiar , i.e. ones who don't have much of a life themselves but curiously , are all too ready to try to impose their own negative and self opinionated values on others who do .

Over the years , I've had a soft spot for Norwich as a club but in recent times it has become apparent that many of it's supporters suffer from a level of arrogance and entitlement only matched by those of a club much closer to home for Blades fans .

As a consequence , no I don't think it would be great if we both stayed up . Obviously I hope that we do and have little doubt that we will . As for your club and because of people like you , I would be more than happy for you to fail miserably .

As Jay said on Bladespod, players will have seen these videos and want to be a part of it. The reactions from the neutrals and the media about our celebrations have probably been the most positive things we've ever heard being said about our club!. Football fans all over the country have identified with this team and these celebrations. Many even admitting jealousy that they can't relate to their players in such a way.

Obviously Trevor is talking shit and is at odds to literally everybody else who's seen the videos but he's entitled to his old fashioned opinion. I suspect he's actually just on a very strange fishing trip to be honest.

I was interested to see where the tube to the “Egan” song originally came from.

Here it is:-

John Egan has achieved legend status with this, it's been viewed nearly 850,000 times on Twitter! I'm hoping it gets to a million by the weekend!

What a sad, lonely little man Trevor Hockey - Canary must be. Not content with celebrating his club's promotion, he has to search out the forum of another team, and try and belittle their achievement by suggesting that said team's celebrations are in some way lacking in class and decorum.

Do one, you sad, budgie-fucking moron. Just because your lot feel the need to sup bottled water and treat themselves with segments of orange, don't you fucking DARE try and slag off a bunch of lads that have spit in the faces of the establishment and achieved promotion against all the odds, and celebrated by doing what countless people do every single day...getting thorougly smashed with their mates and having a fucking good time.

I don’t get

People like you don't get.

In our L1 days, we beat p'boro away 1 nil with a goal very near the end - think it was April and we were going up anyway, regardless of this win. Our fans went bonkers. A P'boro fan commented on our bonkers-ness "You'd have thought they'd just won the FA cup" - he didn't get it either.

We get it and we're quite happy with it.

Now fuck off back to your own forum and enjoy your own celebrations.

A genuine good luck for next season by the way - but still fuck off now.

Now with lyrics via the club

Where did this happen? I originally booked to stay overnight in the Copthorne but changed to town centre. Were all these celebrations in the Copthorne bar or somewhere else ie executive suite?

Good luck?

The fans will need it if they go 1-0 up in the prem, imagine how much diving, feigning injury and time wasting the poor bastards will have to suffer.

Only fans I've seen not loving our celebrations are Norwich fans. Think they're a bit jealous to be honest at the attention we've got.

Wish this Sunday was a shoot out between us, I'd really fancy us for that at either ground.
