Look what Blackwell has destroyed!!!!!

Cheers Beighton. Watched my first ever game from that stand in 1980. Blades 1 Pompey 0. Mike Trusson volley in front of the Kop.

Brings back a lot of memories that.

Gutted, another 15 degrees to the right and you would have seen the infamous white wall. The best view inside Bramall lane that ever was. Chabbies you don't know what you missed.

Agreed - that and the bit below were fab.

The nearest you get to it now is the Evolution Corner.

Happy days seeing Keith Edwards slotting home from a Colin Morris cross....:D

I too watched my first game on there, a reserve game I think, my Grandma took me when I was a mere sprog. I think it was against Liverpool, but time has dulled the senses.

Last game before the Kop was pulled down.

What would you rather have, that or the Streetwise feckin corner..............

Don't know if there is already a thread on here but was there a better partnership than " Edwards and Morris" ??
I know there was " Deane and Agana" & " Currie and Woodward" but can some statto let us know which duo were the most prolific? I'm not bothered about the division, just which two banged the net more between em'.
Morris tearing down the right to cross to edwards was legendary.

My earliest and fondest Blades memory, for me the best ever partnership at Bramall lane, simply because it was fucking magic!

To be Fair the old kop wasn't really torn down, MacDonald and his buillding company kind of just built the new one on top of the old one (so I was told)
Bu I too was on the Kop for the Norwich game, I still have a ticket for the match somewhere.

Where did you get that picture from Beighton? My mate took that photo when we went down to grab some nostagia pics about a week before the roof of the kop came off. I've got some more somewhere, I'll dig them out.

Here's one of them.

Don't think those high rise flats in the background are there anymore either...

I bet you won't be posting your Wembley pics :D

Edwards and Morris played together Feb 82- May 86:
Edwards 123 goals Morris 65 Total 188

Deane and Agana played together Aug 88- Nov 91
Deane 74 goals Agana 48 goals Total 122

Currie and Woodward played together Feb 68-May 76
Currie 59 goals Woodward 122 goals total 181

Given that TC played from a central midfield position and Edwards was an out and out striker, it confirms what most us old gits thought, TC and Woody were a pretty awesome combination!

I took this one myself a couple of months ago. Then photoshopped it so the "SHRINE" was in colour and nothing else. This is blown up to about 1m long and is hanging above my staircase!

Hope you like it.

It wasn't McDonald. It was Hinchliffe, which is why it was named the "En Tout Cas Stand" for a while in the early 90s. McDonald rebuilt John Street.

Somewhere I have the infamous "Hitler failed ...... Brealey succeeded" picture from the Flashing Blade and (if I remember correctly) a BIFA leaflet.

Going back to the first pic of John Street, I remember the last match with the terrace (and indeed before it was demolished), which was a 2-0 home win over Newcastle (Blake 2), and I had to get a ticket for the seats and was gutted. I used to go on the East Terrace more than the West.

It was also a day where I could have done the most stupid thing in my life, but thankfully football spirit (or complete incredulity) came to the fore.

I'd agreed to meet my mates (who were on the terrace) after the match in the Matilda for some well earned Ward's Sheffield Best Bitter. I got there, but the curtains were shut, and not a sound was heard. So, I wondered if they were waiting outside the gates.

I'd forgotten that some 8,000 beaten Geordies had been locked in, and as I turned to walk up Shoreham Street I saw a wall of black and white stripes. I was like a rabbit in the headlights, so I simply soldiered through them.

Hoping.

Thankfully, Arsenal had lost as well that day which near enough meant they'd be in Europe the following year, so the mood wasn't quite as bad ..... I only got a few "Fookin' hippy", and "What tha fook does hee theenk hee's doin?".

Head remained on shoulders, but I went home thirsty. Had I remembered to to the car park door though, I'd have got in and none of you would have had to have read all that.

Sadly missed. Terraces and proper Ward's ......

Certainly was the best view we could ever have had then, though I've never seen a match from the upper tier on the away end. I've been up there though, and certainly understand why many consider it to be the best current view.

we had sum reight uns in the day of TC an Woody......... that early 70's team was the best i've seen.

and guess what..............sum Blades were still moaning !

x is where owd BB used to stand
y is where he ended up when the Blades scored
z is where the white wall was
