We will beat Millwall.

Pigs and Leeds will draw.

Us back in 2nd.

Chill........

The performance was the worrying aspect of tonight, not the result.

We’re failing to impose ourselves on midtable opposition. I haven’t seen us play like we can since Aston Villa away now. 4 points from Bristol, Preston & Birmingham isn’t top 2 form. Leeds meanwhile, seem to have been unfortunate on the occasions when they have dropped points and they continue to put in dominating performances almost every game they play..

Don’t think that’s accurate.
We struggled against Birmingham at home early in the season too.
Leeds struggled to create any chances both home and away against Birmingham.
Last week Che Adams had 3 great chances, they could have beat Leeds 3-0, as they looked poor against the Blues.

Agree they did dominate against Birmingham but struggled to create any chances. Birmingham defend deep and love playing team that attack them, it’s when they have to take the initiative and attack that they struggle a bit.

Also we were great away at Villa for 80 minutes, put in the performance of the first 80 minutes we’ll be promoted......I see what you mean...,you’re saying we haven’t dominated a game since Villa away...agree. Think the team are confident if we score then we can sit back and manage out a win....and to be fair we’ve kept loads of clean sheets. Agree we’ve not hit our heights since Reading at home and even in that we took our foot off the pedal the last 30 minutes.

Without reading through it all, apologies if it's already been said.. .. at the start of the season, especially after Boro away we'd have all taken being a point off second place with five to play..... as would any supporter of any team in this division.

When's it's nip and tuck United never prevail. The only promotions I've seen we were streets ahead of third and second respectively. Same with relegation battles. If it's tight, we'll go down.

People keep saying this Wilder side is different. Let's see.

Lad, that not owd enough. In ‘71 we needed to beat Cardiff in next to last match to overtake them into second place. We did....5-1.

Spot on. Leeds' performances have been consistently excellent, ours not as much.

.
Yet despite that, we’re ahead of them in the form guide over 5,10 amd 15 games.

I’d agree we aren’t convincing right now, but it was our inabilty to win games we dominated that caused us to drop off last season.

Given that we’re much more savvy now, if we hit our peak we should be home and dry given the run ins. Not that I feel confident. :)

Ok, I’m disappointed like most Blades but I cannot fault the team performance tonight. At the final whistle my first thought was it least we haven’t lost, now that WOULD have been a disaster. I thought it was a hard won point against a well organised, disciplined side. Many ups and downs yet to come. Put it this way, obviously I want us to go up automatically but if someone offered us the play offs at the beginning of the season I would have bit their hand off. I am so proud of the team and management at the moment. Giving their all, I cannot ask for any more.

It's true, I started watching in the 1990s. In my first season as an ST holder, we got relegated on the final day. It's continued in pretty much that fashion ever since.

Personally think tonight was a missed opportunity, didn't think Birmingham were as good as everyone claims. But a point away from home is far from bottling it. Must admit I'm not totally convinced that Wednesday will do us a favour on Saturday.
Nor do I think that we have an "easier" run of games. Millwall scrapping for their lives, Forest we already lost to this season, Hull are actually no push overs (they're 9th I think). Think it's useless trying to predict anything really.

That’s not necessarily true bamford missed 3 sitters on Saturday.

Even if we don't win promotion, it is definitely not the same old United. This season has been really good, probably fair to say that we have been over-achieving, or at least that Wilder is getting the very best out of the squad. Looking at the last few months, it is clear that winning promotion from this league is an immensely difficult task; Utd are giving it one hell of a go, and we need to be right behind the team for the next 2 home games.

I guess it’s all your fault then........:)

Some unbeleavable comments on here post match, ok we wernt at our best ! But Brum are fighting to stay up , playing the way they do as a home team makes them a tough nut to crack. We had to be on our guard for the counter attack and did a good job there. The point could be crucial in the end ,We move on Millwall next and that will be another tough game

And they're fighting to stay up with a sense of grievance at having suffered a points deduction (whether or not deserved being totally irrelevant to players snd fans - as it would be to our players and to us)

The only one that wasn't like that was 1983/4 (I think) when Hull let us squeak up.
The Leeds win last night was massive for them unfortunately and though we're fighting like hell we're not playing as well as we can.
Our run-in always looked a bit too tough and so it's likely to prove.

Spot on. Leeds' performances have been consistently excellent, ours not as much.

We struggled to move the ball quick enough tonight in order to break them down and we had no end product.

That said we're still 1 point away but improvement needed for the run in.
Speaking to Leeds fans on Saturday, they all told me the blue noses deserved to beat them and they were shocking.

Also, they got beat by us at home, struggled to beat Millwall and weren't dominating Preston before Pearson got his manditory red card.

It’s not in our hands now.

No but it will be if we average 2 points per game over the last 8 games because I don’t think Leeds will - currently we have 4 over 3 games which is 1.3 - and not enough

I see the cap doffer's are out of the asylum again FFS to say Leeds are playing in top form is utter bollocks we beat them a few weeks back they struggled to beat lowly Millwall, lost at Brum and could not break down Preston until that numpty Pearson got himself sent off. Most said the last two games would show us how we are doing well guess what we took a point more than Leeds did even if our performances were shit as the moaners would have you believe. Any team can have 70% possession every game like Leeds so what ? We have scored as many goals as they have but conceded fewer. Lets see how the weekend pans out, our turn to play lowly Millwall while they play the pigs who still have a mathematical chance of the play off's. I know who I would sooner be playing and it ain't the pigs who since dead loss Jos left have learned how to grind out 0-0 results, if they don't beat Leeds any chance of a top six finish is over for them.

4 pts from Preston and Brum away. Aye blowing it big style. Leeds played same 2 fixtures and only got 3 pts.

It's 46 games that count.

We didn't blow it, we played a resolute and organised Brum side, whose table position belies their actual quality this season.

There needs be a shift from that worrying mentality that a few seem to be getting back, back to the believing we can turn and compete against anyone mentality from a few months ago. Playing on the front foot.
