Some of the comments on here make me feel ashamed to be a Blade.

We have to worst injury crisis for many a year, and all you can go on about is sacking Blackwell.

Grow up for god sake!

Walker, Fortune, Daives and Geary as a back four will have NEVER played together and have been thrown into a derby match away from home. Yet they have battled away and we have scrapped for a point after going behind twice. Geary's first game for 18 months, not even had a reserve game and comes in to helo the cause!

I cant get my head round some of the comments on here, clearly some of you got drunk on our one season in the top flight!

Nice one !
If McCabe has got millions to invest in January then he wants to get rid and bring in Coppell (or at least somebody who knows what he's doing) asap.
Enough is enough.

Unless some of you think that the dross we have witnessed so far this season is aceptable.

A few casualties??

Naysmith, Williamson, Taylor, Stewart, Ward, Monty, Morgan, Davies, Fortune, Geary, Walker, Killa, Bennet.

All these have either been injured, just coming back or were injured during the match tonight!

I hardly call this a few casualties!

Hendo and Evans - £5m worth of attackers bought by blackwell couldn't muster one single effort on target from open play all game
Treacy, Ward - Two tricky wingers not in the game at all because we didn't even try to play through them. Both Blackwell signings.
Harper and Quinn - Outplayed in the middle of the park by average championship players. Harper did try to look for the ball and worked hard but playing alongside Quinn is a hindrence to anyone. Quinn once again for the god damn millionth time was bloody useless in every department. Harper - Blackwell signing. Quinn - Despite any injuries always seems to get into Blackwell's starting XI.
So far that is a front 6 all of Blackwell's making and, Monty apart, not affected by injuries.
Walker, Kilgallon, Davies, Fortune and Geary - Ok, the only sympathy I will give to Blackwell here is the fact that they haven't played together before and Killa forced to play out of position. But then again, he played Killa at left back last week and played Stewart (left back in his own right) on the left wing and Treacy on the right despite having two right wingers on the bench. Fortune was awful tonight and easy to see why he was part of a Charlton defence relegated last year. Truely terrible. Davies got outmuscled numerous times and does not look good enough.
Despite the defence, we should still be trying to play football through the midfield and strikers - did we do anything other than hoof the ball time and time again? Ward and Treacy can be dangerous and are capable of creating chances but we did not even try to use that tonight.
A genuinely pathetic performance tonight. The defence you can excuse with Fortune and Del boy playing for the first time in ages but the complete lack of any tactical game plan going forward is embarrasing. Their defence were there for the taking as on occasions we proved in the first half but shit me, we aren't half predictable and clueless going forward.
Blame tonight's goals on the defence sure but 8 games without a win and no shots on target tells a story as to how we are playing. Wake up and smell the coffee.

Go forth and never darken these dorsteps again!
Blackwell is useless
End of story
Get Rid As Soon As possible

Could I ask how many people threw stuff at the telly at full time? because in Oakwell the majority clapped the team off the pitch.

Not because we were "good enough" or because we particularly played well.... but because we battled diversity, put the effort in and got a draw from a losing position.

I can appreciate what your saying, and i take on board your comments regarding playing Stewart on the right etc etc

My main concern is, that despite allot of players playing injured and out of posistion tonight no one has given any credit to us for battling back. We could have gone under 4-0 tonight, but at least we showed a bit of grit to fight back.

Im not a massive Blackwell fan, but i cant remember that last time we didnt have to make enforced changes due to injuries or suspensions. IF and this is a big IF... We get a settle side after the international break, and results continue this way then i will hold my hands up and say its time for a change. Given the money situation though, i cant see us getting a big name some people think we can get

I've seen many seasons in the top flight mate. I'm quite sure we won't see another whilstever Blacko is in charge.

Does decent football feature in your scheme of things? Or his?

It does, but i would like to see even Man Utd cope with the number of injuries we have had and still play good football.

The Cardiff and Newcastle game showed we can play good football if we can get a settled side out there

We didn't have an injury crisis last season and, by and large, the commendable run to the play-offs masked some dire football.

We were a disgrace at Wembley. So were Leeds against Watford and us against Wolves at Cardiff. Can anyone think of a common factor?

WOAH WOAH WOAH.....

There's not that many more injuries to to the Newcastle and Cardiff games than what there was versus Barnsley.
The Newcastle and Cardiff games we didn't have a 'settled' side out.

Also against Newcastle, I'd go back and watch it, at times we played decent football but the majority of the time it was long ball.

Naysmith, Williamson, Taylor, Stewart, Ward, Monty, Morgan, Davies, Fortune, Geary, Walker, Killa, Bennet.

Amazing.

Some fans are now using the excuse that players are coming back from injuries to support their/Blackwells arguement.

Just so you know.... Williamson has been on the bench a while, Morgan was suspended, Walker only went off for one half, fortune I don't believe was ever injured and Naysmith we knew was going to be injured for this game months ago.

Made me smile when Robins was basically rubbishing Blackwells injuries excuses.

£5Million of forward talent, and all but 2 of last nights team would be regular first team players, maybe Killa was played out of position but its not like he's never played there before though.

Davies and Fortune were the 2 so there could be some leeway regarding the centre of defence, but I thought they did ok considering, but those two alone arent responsible for the hot potato football we play.

How people think we will get anywhere with the Boot it to Hendo, only for him to give away a Foul, tactics currently employed I just dont get. I like what Hendo offers, but I personally think he would benefit from balls that at least give him a better than a 50/50 chance of winning.

We managed to get a creditable draw last night scoring from our only 2 shots on target, let your mind run free and imagine what can be achieved if we gave our players a chance and tried to pass it to each other and actually had a plan as to what to do in certain areas of the pitch.

Im intrigued to see what happens now that Hendo misses the next match, do we think there be any discernable change in tacticts cos I dont.

Well done for getting a draw last night, but lets not kid ourselves, we could have played for another 100 years and we wouldnt have scored from open play.

God help us if we need to rely on penalties for our goals now, we all know what our record at being given penalites is like. Think we've used the next 3 seasons worth of penalty tokens last night. :)

HC

Although aspects could be debated our first team would probably be the following

Kenny - Didn't play (1)
Walker - Played
Morgan - Didn't Play (2)
Killa - Didn't play centre half. Therefore not our first team (3)
Naysmith - Didn't play (4)
Monty - Didn't play (5)
Harper - Played
Ward - Played, first game back
Treacey - Played
Evans - Played
Hendo - Played.

5 first teamers out last night, and one players first game back.

Talking about the next match I think if Hendo misses out it will be either Cresswell (if back) or Ward and Evans which is actually something I wouldn't mind seeing. I like Hendo but I have been interested in how our forward play would change with two more mobile players.

You're clutching at straws saying that Killa is out of position so not deemed as first choice.

Kenny can't be classed as first teamer because he is banned and we 'replaced' him. Naysmith has also been 'replaced'.

Harper has played pretty much every minute since he has come, and Quinn also plays pretty much every minute - so these could be classed as a first team partnership regardless whether Monty is available or not.

I'd agree with HC that 9 players played last night who can all be deemed first team starters.

It's telling that Liverpool and Man United are struggling for form when they've both lost two of their top performers. No team is immune from disruption from player sales and injuries.

Frankly I don't think any manager could keep us at the top of the table with the issues we've had (sales / budget-cuts / injuries / player unrest). If Blackwell can survive the current struggle, stabilise the team, then build again, I think he would be viewed as a terrific manager. But it's an incredibly tall order especially in the face of fans' impatience.

My only gripe with the man is the style of play. But for me the only convincing reason to sack a manager is if he has ***cliche alert*** lost the player's respect and the team is looking like getting relegated. That's not the situation I see (yet).

Funny thought Man U were the better team against the, supposed, Champions elect on Sunday and they've not been doing to badly results wise.

For me the problem at liverpool is caused by the manager, poor recruiting and some loss of belief by the players in him, but granted any team would miss Torres and Gerrard though. The thing is I dont see any Gerrards or Torres' in our team (or any players that are so markedly better than the rest) so the impact should be minimal in comparison for us IMO.

Totally agree about the style, or lack of, play and the complete lack of ideas of what to do in various areas of the pitch. Be interesting to see what happens if we gave our players half a chance by trying to pass to them. :)

It would indeed. Squinny gets fearful stick, but the young player I remember breaking into the first team was one who tried to play short, crisp, pass-and-move football.

Either he's lost it or has been told the ball's got a ticking bomb inside it.

Sorry for all you blackwell lovers read the facts look at the run we are on every team has injuries deal with it, it does not excuse crap hopeless football like last night 2 shots on target in 90 minutes both from the spot not good enough. Lets look back at the last 12 games when we had no injuries to speak of can anyone remember us playing well for 90 minutes not 45 the full 90 not much to ask for us to play well at least once for a full game. In those 12 games won 2, drawn 4, lost 6. crap form, crap tactics, crap manager enough said i,ve lost all faith in him simple as that. No good having a 44,000 stadium in league 1
