Since 1973, 20th May, four days after I was born, Sunderland have lost 6 times at Wembley and us five. If we'd played Wolves there, not in Cardiff, it would 6-6. What is it about us both eh?

But have Sunderland also had any successes there?
We have a 100% record of misery.

Sunderland won the FA cup in 1972 at Wembley v Leeds
What have we ever won
Not a lot in my life time of following Blades for 40 years

Yeah but since beating Leeds in 73, they've lost six times there.

Down to me and the family, I must confess - I have four, yes four, nephews who are season ticket holders at the Stadium of Light. Due to family and work commitments, only one could make it to Wembley (and no-one’s seen the poor bugger since), but the other three will have watched it wherever they were in the world.

Me and the lad have put the hours in, driving and suffering for our art, and our kid tried his best a couple of times before he left us a few years ago, but the Sheffield part of the bargain has fared no better than the Mackems...

What’s the saying, life’s a bitch and then you die, or God loves a trier?

Eeerrrrmmm must be the red and white stripes curse

I worked with a Lincoln City fan and he used to say the same
Because Lincoln City also had a terrible record at Wembley, similiar to ours, think they won once though.

Lincoln City won the the chuckletrade trophy final in red and white stripes does that count?
Sunderland in the 1973 cup final
They were the very rare occasions when the apparent footballing gods were caught out on holiday and they more than made up for their allowance of this to happen in the years after it’s occurrence. :)

Don’t Brentford have a similarly awful record to us in play-offs?

These are all great omens. I’m now utterly convinced we won’t go up. Haha.

They won the FA Cup in 1937 too
