Because he put a (completely innocent) photo on social media of himself shirtless. One of his followers was a 15 year old girl, and someone chose to dress that up as him 'sending' an underage girl a photo of himself shirtless.

Of course, as soon as the truth was revealed everyone knew it was a non-story and 99% of people forgot about it. However fans of a minority of clubs still use it as a stick to beat him with.

It's a classic example of the way these things work nowadays. To many people the truth no longer matters - just keep telling the lie if it suits you, and a certain proportion of people will believe it.

It's understandable that Henderson reacts to such an unpleasant false allegation, but he needs to make sure he doesn't allow it to cause him to lose control and do something he regrets. That's what those doing the chanting want to happen.

I’ve been to lots of football matches over the past 20 years. I’ve yelled at opposition players for bad tackles, jeered their shots that go over the bar, sung songs about their haircuts or Wednesday allegiances and shouted cheerio when they get sent off.

But I’ve never in my life got angry when a player gives it back to the crowd. It’s all meant to be a show, a pantomime with heroes and villains. If you can’t take it, don’t give it out.

And don’t use an amped up player’s reaction as an excuse to start behaving like an animal. Particular if you shouted paedo at him.
