I doubt I'm alone in preffering night matches, there often seems to be an extra edge to them, and I reckon a disproportionate number of my greatest blades memories have happened under the lights.

It got me thinking, we've had some significant and enjoyable wins under Wilder at the Lane in evening kick offs - last night was no different.
Looking back, how does it compare to some of other fantastic nights we have witnessed?

March 2017: Sheff Utd 2-0 Coventry
Not only was it great to get one over on Coventry, but it was a massive result in L1, setting us up for the win at Northampton in the following fixture. Notably, this game included the scene in which Wilder belly-slid across the turf when celebrating Fleck's goal.

September 2017: Sheff Utd 2-0 Wolves
I think it's fair to say that Wolves were the best side in the championship last season, so to beat them so convincingly was satisfying to say the least.
It came just days after the 4-2 victory at Hillsborough and really helped put us on the map in the championship as more than just a newly promoted side.

February 2019: Sheff Utd 1-0 Middlesbrough
After throwing away a 3 goal lead at Villa, it was always going to be interesting how the team responded, especially considering how many of our players were missing through injury/suspension - a fantastic win which evidenced the depth of the squad.

March 2019: Sheff Utd 2-0 Brentford
In terms of a display of courage/character, Wilder seemed to think it was up there with the best of his tenure - I'd agree. The team worked so hard for eachother, and really showed their mettle last night, is this the best of the lot?

Nothing will compared to the 3-2 against the pigs. If you could bottle up the emotions during that game and give it to a shrink, it would provide them with the extremes of what humans can feel, before plateauing back to a normal happy state.

Sheer euphoria at HT, crippling anxiety during the 2nd half, overwhelming relief at full time and within half an hour of FT just very happy.

I know the OP is about nights under Wilder but I watched this back on Sky Sports football a week ago, so had to mention it.

There are two games that happened under the lights that are seared in my memory bank,we were promoted that season, there was over 40,000 in the ground for each game.

Sheffield United versus Hull City,we lost 2-1 and we got kicked all over the place,it was brutal.

Sheffield United versus Cardiff City,we won 5-1.......................that is up there with the best of em for pre match tension and then match ejaculation.

In terms of what it could last night could be the best under the lights under CW
the other games mentioned were great but how important could that 3 points be and the timing of it with playing Leeds on Saturday -
i suppose we will know in 2 months time !

I think the Cardiff game has to be the best footballing night of my life, what an atmosphere there was that night, it was just magical & just pipped the 5-0 beating of Arsenal for me, I remember them like they were played last night.

Some of these matches were so great and memorable people can't remember if they were at night, what the score was and if they've got the right opposition.

Sheffield Utd 1-0 Liverpool.....a screamer from Gary Hamson....1975 League Cup (Silent?)
A full Bramall Lane, nobody gave us a hope.....what a night.

It was the 78-79 season and Liverpool had just won the European Cup against Bruges 3 months earlier.

As someone whose recent experiences at the Lane are 90% night games due to work commitments I see it slightly differently.
How about Shrewsbury (2-4); Colchester (2-3); Fleetwood (0-2); Southend (0-3); Hartlepool (0-1). I could go on (and often do). Sorry to be a party pooper as I am old enough to remember Cardiff and - not sure if it’s been mentioned yet - Blackburn QF won on pens.
The fact is we went through a spell in League 1 when our night results were peculiarly awful.
