Unbelievable performance from Wilder

McGoldrick didn't come out at half time with the other subs so I thought that's a straight swap for Hogan. Wilder will ask him to run his blood to water for the first 15 and then sub him for Billy for the second 15 and ask him to put in a similar shift.

For the last 15 minutes I thought he'd bring Billy off and put on an extra defender to see the game out.

To bring on an attacker for a defender in those circumstances shows the incredible trust Chris and his management team have in all the players.

That trust is returned in bucket loads with a performance like that last night.

And so on to Leeds.....

Billy worked so hard to get the corner which led to the second goal. Really I thought it was a matter of time before Brentford scored and our unbelievable team ran themselves ragged in defending and holding the line.
Times like these it’s good to be a Blade and the spirit and heart that runs through the entire squad is a joy to behold.

At 10 men, Fleck had been trying to push up in a support role when we had the ball right up until Billy came on so I wrongly assumed it was him who was making way.

I don't even know where Billy played. Everywhere, I think. :D

As much as it was tactical, I think just having the skipper on made a difference mentality wise.

Have they still fallen out?
Please provide a quotation from me that has EVER stated Wilder and Sharp have fallen out ??

Spin doctor Acorah :).

My statement was always along the lines of Wilder does not really rate Sharp.

And the evidence to validate such a statement is growing with every passing minute of “preferring” to utilise combinations of Hogan and Madine.

You would have to be blind not to recognise the difference in the quality of performances from our forwards in the 1st half compared to the 2nd. And in immensely more difficult circumstances to boot.

But blind spots are aplenty in these here parts ;)

You’re not Pinchy ’s mother by any chance, are you?

It must be so hard for Wilder to concentrate on these risky subs or even move around his technical area on account of those massive solid granite balls that he has swinging around all day between his legs.

Fair do's to the fella they are very balanced, honest comments........tbh i'm not really used to managers being fair after a game so very well done son ;) UTB

Chris Wilder is.

In this game, Frank says ours was a penalty and Wilder says Madine’s was a red, where normally you’d expect them both to be of the opposite view, very refreshing.

I completely agree I'd play a combination of Sharp and A N Other each game, but inferring that Wilder has some agenda is absolute bollocks unless you have proof?

Why use the word Agenda ?

Does it accurately reflect / mirror what I have said ?

I’ll give you this, Westminster might be the right place for you dear boy :)

You state that you think that Wilder doesn’t rate Sharp. This implies an agenda.

There’s no way I’d oust you as ‘King of Spin’ to get anywhere near Westminster.

Said to my old man at the time that a brave manager would get us further up the pitch and get Sharp/McG on - I even managed to call the Baldock to come off part! Well, I had to get something right at least once

One day I will learn not to misjudge Wilder's decisions. When Billy was coming on (our 3rd and final sub), JOC was on the floor receiving treatment. Bonkers. And later on, one of their players went storming into our half looking as if he was going to create something dangerous; Billy went in pursuit, clearly prepared to take one for the team. Fortunately, his legs have gone ;), and he never caught up, or we could have had another red card. I must learn not to worry. Bringing Billy on won us the game.

Dunno if anyone else noticed Hendo looked to be struggling at one point after we'd used our 3 subs. I began to wonder who on here had sevely fucked off the footballing God's. Thankfully it was just being winded and not a pull.
Think that was when the ball either flew into his midriff or... Balls. The ball seemed to jump up off the turf a bit from a low cross
