Has it started yet? We keep being told it's imminent.

The Blades were absolutely bloody magnificent tonight. And we had to be, Leeds are going to give us nowt. We may beat 'em, we may not, but they aren't going anywhere, despite what the wishful thinkers would have you believe.

And of course the other lot are making their march towards the Play-offs...

Just trying to keep my feet on the ground after tonight's match!

Hopefully you'll all be gleefully bumping this thread come Saturday afternoon.

So many people say "I think team X will fade away" and it's almost never based on anything other than a feeling. I keep hearing people say it about Leeds, a Leeds fan said it to me about Norwich, and I've just read Norwich fans saying it about us.

Some people will have picked the one of the three that doesn't get an automatic spot and smugly say "See, I told you they would".

You miss the Qpr game ?

Oh, that was it, was it? Some bloody collapse that was.

I'm not saying Leeds are invincible, far from it. I just find this notion that's somehow taken hold that they're inevitably going to fall apart like a cake in a bath very fanciful indeed.

Since the QPR game, they've won 5, drawn one and lost one (to Norwich). Hardly the sign of a team crumbling under the pressure.

We've done superbly in that spell too. The point is, we're going to have to keep doing so because Leeds have hit the after-burners.

I'm gonna stick my neck out and say it'll be us and Leeds promoted, Norwich is the most likely to drop. I get the impression that they think they're already promoted and they're points lead and the run in will enforce that. However, their squad is very thin up top and us and Leeds don't look like buckling anytime soon. I personally think both us and Leeds have more grit and nouse than Norwich, but I can't deny that Norwich is a quality side. Just not so sure they're going to keep up this run.

It’s gonna be very tough for the team that finishes 3rd in the playoffs.

The most accurate indicator of future results tends to be performances over a spell of games.
The general theory is consistently play well creating chances and good results tend to follow.
Where as playing under par, scraping results, last minute goals and controversial penalties usually means poor results aren’t far away.

Leeds were consistently looking average after Xmas but scraping results hence why even their own fans were negative about their chances but they seem to have stepped up their performances in recent matches and look a good side.

The top 3 have been good for a while now, so it’s difficult to predict if any will hit some poor form.
Really looking forward to Saturday because it will answer some questions. It’s great that Norwood can play but I would have preferred to have Madine as an option to bring on as a sub. I really believe we won’t lose to Leeds.

On another note, is everyone as confident as they were that Wednesday are going to miss the play-offs?

Nobody is going to collapse, but teams do drop points, it's perfevtly realistic that we could pick up 3 more points than Leeds in the last 9 games, or 2/5 (depending on how they do tomorrow) than Norwich. It's also perfectly realistic we could finish third. Think any of the top 3 have a shot at winning the league, just need the last final push and a bit of luck.

Yes

I hate watching united then when we go in front seeing what Leeds are doing then thinking - damn it ! All we can do is concentrate on our own games and make sure we keep up this performance and wait for them to crack - or Norwich. & the game this weekend whatever the outcome we will still be in good position for autos - nothings a guarantee yet ! So much pressure is getting put on this game like it’s a decider - yes it’s a very important game and the braggin rights are there and the atmosphere will be tense - but bring it on, we are going there on a fantastic run with a good team, just not mentioning madine

Yes

I don't disagree. It's their predicted plummet down the league that I don't see coming.

Wish I was like you on the other score though. Wednesday are unbeaten in an age and this impenetrable wall of teams between them and the play-offs has been whittled down to just two.

Well they are very good at collecting points from relegation threatened clubs. They have not beaten a top half club in 2019 they will really have to step it up.Their schedule is about to get gets much tougher against the better clubs that they have to face one after another.
They have played a game more than clubs around them tomorrow's results could see them fall back to 14th

I don't recall many talking about a Leeds 'collapse' but the fact is that both them and Norwich were much further ahead of us not too long ago [wasn't it 11 points for Norwich and 7 for Leeds, or vice versa back in late November?] yet we managed to peg them both back weeks ago. Therefore both have wobbled in the meantime, and there is no reason why they can't again. Same applies to us of course.

The good news is that tonight's result put pressure back on both of them. Norwich have to play a capable, if inconsistent Hull tomorrow, and I don't care what anyone says the pressure will be on Leeds in front of their home support next week.

They're up to 9th, only three points away. Almost as close as we are to Leeds.

Having played more than all those around them and with three of the teams three points above them playing tomorrow.

And still not having beaten a team in the top half under Bruce.

They've just beaten a team who haven't been paid for 2 months, and leapfrogged 4 teams who haven't played tonight. They could drop straight back to where they were again tomorrow.

April will see to them, have no fear.

No, but they didn't lose to us or Derby either, did they?

A big defeat soon should knock them back, but if they keep avoiding defeat I can see them making it.

What we need is a Norwich draw tommorow everyone’s making it out as if there Miles clear it’s only one point

I hope Wendy make a late push as they play norwhich and Leeds in the same week

I would loveeee it if they took some points of them which meant we went up that would be better than any victory against them

The Leeds collapse ain’t gonna happen. But a little wobble on Saturday would be very welcome. If there is a team to beat Leeds on their own patch.........It’s us.

For as long as the deluded cunts still think they can make the playoffs. It can only benefit us.

Well.

First off, I missed the match as I was at work. From the sounds of it, although we won, it doesn't seem like Leeds collapsed, or even played badly. However, the manager's post match interview tells a different tale!
